Job Description
Roles and Responsibilities
(Immediate joiners preferred)
As a Cloud and DevOps Architect (Preferrable in the ecommerce/travel industry), your key responsibilities include:
- Architect and create an effective build and release process using industry best practices and tools.
- Collaborate with VP of Cloud and DevOps, Product managers, Product owners and other Architects to design and develop world class customer experience and collaboration workflow of the future solution.
- Define robust, future proof, scalable, secure, reusable, reliable design, and architecture for SAAS based products for travel experience business.
- Monitor current and future technology trends and make recommendations of solutions and standards that meet the business needs and drives improvements.
- Mentor and guide architecture and cloud team members technically to produce high quality product.
- Be responsible to deliver a quality product release.
- Architect, Create and manage build scripts to deploy software in a multi-cloud (AWS/GCP) environment.
- Look for opportunities to automate as much of the deployment process as possible to provide for repeatability, auditability, scalability and build in process enforcement.
- Architect Continuous Integration (CI) practices to drive development teams to implement smaller changes and commit code to the version control repo frequently.
- Architect Continuous Development (CD) practices that automates deployment of the
application to several environments Dev, Test and Production.
Required Skills
- Bachelors degree in computer science or engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
- Acting as a Cloud and DevOps subject matter expert and work in conjunction with other project teams on the public / private / hybrid cloud ecosystem to architect cloud native solutions.
- 10+ years of solution architecture and system design experience, 6+ years of relevant experience as defining the architecture of SAAS based products.
- Demonstrate an ability to think strategically about business, customer experience, product, and technical challenges. Should be creative and able to generate process improvements and product ideas.
- Knowledge of IP networking, VPN's, DNS, load balancing and/or firewalls.
- Proficiency in managing systems within multiple sites including fail-over redundancy & auto scaling (knowledge of best practices and IT operations in an always-up, always-available service).
- Hands on experience with system configuration and orchestration tools such as Puppet/
Chef/Ansible/Salt Stack, Cloud Formation and Terraform.
- Experience in assessing clients workloads and technology landscape for Cloud suitability, develop business case and Cloud optimization roadmap. Provided strategic guidance to clients with regards to technology. IT infrastructure, application hosting.
- Knowledge of recommended Well-Architected Framework.
- Good experience in designing cloud native, scalable SAAS products with microservices
based architecture, for 1M active user base on AWS.
- Experience in designing, supporting reusable and maintainable APIs and services.
- Working experience with SQL and NoSQL (mongo, dynamo, cassandra) databases.
- Ability to lead conversation in a room with architects, designers, developers, product
managers and product owners.
- Experience in container management framework Deployment, Orchestration using ECS and/or Kubernetes.
- Familiarity with network engineering and Linux/Windows system administration
- Experience with one or more CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, AWS CodePipelines or GitLab, using YAML.
- Good Understanding and Proficient in observability, monitoring, and logging tools such as ELK Stack(Elasticsearch, Logstash, and Kibana), Prometheus, Nagios, Grafana, CloudWatch or Datadog.
- Good Experience and Understanding in a scripting language like Bash, Ruby or Python.
- Strong Experience in services like AWS / Amazon CloudFront / AWS Global Accelerator / Elastic Load Balancing / Amazon API Gateway / Amazon Route 53 / AWS WAF / Amazon EKS / AWS Certificate Manager / VPC / AWS Organizations / AWS RAM / AWS Shield / CloudWatch / AWS CloudTrail.
- Solid Understanding of Current Cloud and DevOps Best practices and Culture. Preferably an Agile / DevOps Certified Professional.
Extra awesome:
- Have experience with operating and tuning relational and NoSQL databases.
- Experience of working with cloud-based machine learning platforms (AWS preferred).
- AWS Solution Architect / Database / Security certification. (Basic / Intermediate / Professional)
