Job Description

Position: Melting Supervisor.

Educational Qualifications: Diploma or Graduate in Metallurgical/ Mechanical Engineering.

Nature of Experience: Experience in Iron Foundry Casting Production related industries.

Experience: 2-3 years in melting practices, Composition Control / Microstructure evaluation/ lining of melting furnace/holding furnace/pouring tundish/ladles and knowledge in quality/integrated energy management system / IMS /IATF knowledge.

To control and monitoring various activities in melting department to achieve the daily metal requirements with quality and safety.

Melting functions in Brakes India Ltd., Foundry Division Naidupeta Plant.

1. Roles & Responsibilities

Functional:
Ensuring good quality of metal supplied for the production
Manages the activities to meet the shift-wise production target.
Initiate corrective actions for any delays in the shift.
Collecting necessary raw materials shift wise and adherence to charge-mix to achieve correct chemical composition.
Contribution to achieve department objectives
Monitoring and analysis of all direct and indirect raw material consumption on shift basis and initiate action to reduce cost.
Monitoring the furnace dimensions and taking subsequent actions
Making continual improvement with or without team
Maintaining 1S and 2S activities as per the checklist to keep the shop floor clean.
Ensuring safety in working environment
Attending the daily/Weekly Rejection Meeting and taking actions relevant to melting department.
Taking corrective actions for any non-conformities regarding quality and safety.
Preparation of appropriate work instruction, documents for QMS/IMS/EnMS
Impart on the job training to all operators/contract labors.
Effective utilization of all resources like men, machine and material in the shift to reduce total operation cost.
Collection of data and analysis in the shift as per the established reporting mechanisms for making suitable decisions.
To assist for the planning of manpower for current needs for the departments.
Train and motivate the operators/contract labors to improve their performance.
