What's this role about?

Looking for a self-driven individual who has a high quotient for problem solving, technical zeal in learning newer areas and has worked in a high demand work environment. Candidate would be involved in various projects and highly skilled API Gateway Specialist to join our team. The candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining our AWS API gateway infrastructure. They will work closely with development teams to ensure efficient and secure API integration across our systems.

Here's how you'll contribute:

• AWS API Gateway Design and Development
• Design, develop, and implement API gateway solutions to facilitate secure and efficient communication between various internal and external systems.
• Collaborate with software developers and architects to integrate APIs seamlessly into existing applications and services.
• Configure and manage API gateway policies, authentication mechanisms, rate limiting, and traffic management to optimize performance and security.
• Monitor API gateway performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure reliability and scalability.
• Implement security best practices, including encryption, authentication, and access control, to protect APIs and sensitive data.
• Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in API management and security to continuously improve our API gateway infrastructure.
• Provide technical guidance and support to development teams on API design, implementation, and usage.
• Document API gateway configurations, policies, and procedures for internal reference and compliance purposes.
• Work with the team in capacity of AWS Architect on day to day activities
• Experience building and maintaining AWS infrastructure (VPC, EC2, Security Groups, IAM, ECS, CodeDeploy, CloudFront, S3)
• Strong understanding of how to secure AWS environments and meet compliance requirements
• Ability to learn/use a wide variety of open source technologies and tools
• Strong bias for action and ownership
• Solve problems at hand with utmost clarity and speed
• Train and coach other team members
• Ability to turn around quickly

Skills required to contribute:

Hands-on (Must have) 8+ years of working experience:

• API Gateway Design & Development
• Proven experience designing, implementing, and managing API gateway solutions.
• In-depth knowledge of API management concepts, protocols, and technologies (e.g., REST, SOAP, JSON, OAuth, OpenAPI).
• Strong understanding of networking concepts and protocols (e.g., TCP/IP, HTTP, SSL/TLS).
• Experience with API gateway platforms such as Apigee, AWS API Gateway, or Kong.
• Proficiency in scripting and automation using languages like Python, Shell, or JavaScript.
• Familiarity with containerization and orchestration technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) is a plus.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
• Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or related field.
