As the Product Owner, you will be responsible for the product and its features from inception to launch. You will be in charge of organizing, prioritizing and assessing the work of a scrum team. You should be adept at switching between the roles of product designer, strategist, market analyst, developer, project manager and customer liaison.
Responsibilities:
Take the lead as Product Owner of scrum teams
Help create vision and direction for the development team through detailed specifications for product features so that the development team clearly understands what is expected of it
Inspire and motivate the development team to deliver innovative and exciting solutions with an appropriate sense of urgency
Develop and maintain appropriately prioritized backlog of user stories for implementation
Participate in daily Scrums, Sprint Planning Meetings, and Sprint Reviews
Help the team to reach consensus for what can be achieved during a specific period of time
Remove impediments identified by the team
Remind the team of the rules and practices that members have adopted for themselves
Follow work progress, identify areas for improvement and process refinement on a continuous basis
Follow agile/scrum best practices
Understand industry trends and the competition and be able to anticipate market needs, and translate this as a vision for the team
Collaborate with product architects and product marketing teams to translate business requirements into user stories for the development team to implement
Act as the primary liaison between end users and teams
Plan releases and set expectations for delivery of new functionalities
Your most important responsibility will be to ensure the product creates value for end users as well as the organization
Requirements:
Prior experience as a Product Owner or a similar role in product management.
Familiarity with agile process and principles.
In-depth knowledge of software development and web technologies.
Excellent communication, organization and time management skills.
A degree in Software Engineering or similar relevant field.
