You will join our Bengaluru office and be part of the Visual Graphics team.
You will be part of our 1,500+ Visual Graphics & Media (VG&M) community in India that offers presentation design support, i.e., designing internal and external communication materials, including PowerPoint presentations as well as print and electronic media to McKinsey consultants worldwide. The global nature of our operations presents a platform to interact and collaborate with colleagues from other centers within India (Chennai & Thiruvananthapuram) and outside as well (Poland and Costa Rica), thereby providing a multicultural environment that you can experience and benefit from. With more than 2,500 employees, McKinseys global support network provides services to our consulting teams across various functions and domains such as research, analytics, IT, digital, finance & accounting, procurement, assistant support, and presentation design.
Roles and Responsibilities
You will lead a team of business presentation specialists and you'll define and set up a successful environment for the team members to efficiently deliver services to our customers.
As the first-line manager, you will invest and synchronize your efforts on three major pillars team engagement, excellent service delivery, and an environment that promotes and nurtures continuous improvement, innovation, and holistic development. You will have opportunities to demonstrate and further enhance your leadership skills as you lead and develop this team of 15 - 18 colleagues.
You will be the owner of the service delivery of your team members managing and measuring their work to ensure delivery against the key performance indicators. You will also work in tandem with your peer team leaders in exchanging knowledge and collectively owning the service teams performance along with your team manager. You will have ample opportunities to work with function heads and leaders on projects/initiatives and also present results in different forums, thereby creating visibility and recognition for you and your team.
You can leverage the opportunity that this multifaceted role provides to take your managerial and leadership skills to the next level by being responsible for the various aspects of managing a team, such as service delivery, helping set realistic goals and objectives, creating an environment of self-governance and engagement, managing conflicts as an effective manager, recognizing and rewarding performance appropriately as a people leader, and conducting meaningful performance reviews/feedback discussions as a coach.
You will role model and inspire your team members through your passion for leading and developing others, technical / business knowledge, communication, and influence on your team. You will work in a very dynamic and demanding environment that will challenge you to continuously improve and innovate to deliver higher value to your line of business and support growth from all dimensions self, team, and organization.
