Doctors Without Borders/ Medecins Sans Frontieres (MSF) is an international,
independent, medical humanitarian organisation that delivers emergency aid to people
affected by armed conflict, epidemics, natural and man-made disasters and exclusionfrom
healthcare in more than 70 countries. DWB offers assistance to people in need and
irrespective of race, religion, gender or political affiliation.
Doctors Without Borders has worked in India since 1999, providing free-of-charge essential
healthcare to people in remote areas; treatment and care for people affected by HIV/AIDS,
malnutrition; hepatitis C, tuberculosis, kala azar and sexual and gender-based violence; an
important subject for our action is containing effect of antibiotic resistance. We also
respond to natural disasters and other emergencies, provides mental healthcare and
advocates for the development of more effective and affordable medicines to improve
access to treatment everywhere.
Doctors without Borders was awarded the Indira Gandhi Prize for Peace, Disarmament and
Development in 1996 and the Nobel Peace Prize in 1999.
Doctor without Borders India (DWBI) runs projects in the states of Andhra Pradesh, Bihar,
Chhattisgarh, Delhi, Jammu and Kashmir, Jharkhand,Maharashtra,Manipur,andTelangana.
Doctors Without Borders India (DWBI) and the endTB project
Doctors Without Borders, and its partners i.e. Partners In Health (PIH), Interactive Research
and Development (IRD), Epicentre, France, Institute of Tropical Medicine, Belgium and the
Harvard Medical School have launched two major clinical trials, endTB and endTB-Q which
seek to revolutionize treatment for the toughest strains of tuberculosis (TB), the worlds
leading infectious disease killer. The goal of these studies is to generate high quality
evidence from a highly heterogeneous population that could lead to a change in the global
recommendations for the management of MDR-TB.
The endTB trials are multi-country, randomized, controlled, Phase III clinicaltrial testing five
new, all oral, shorter duration regimens compared to the current standard of care. The aim
of the trials is to find shorter, less toxic and injection-free treatments for multidrug-
resistant TB (MDR-TB). The experimental regimens mainly rely on newly approved or
repurposed drugs and avoid drugs to which high rates of resistance have been reported in
MDR-TB patient populations.These multi-country trials are being conducted in
Georgia, India, Kazakhstan, Lesotho, Pakistan, Peru, South Africa and Vietnam. InIndia the
trials are conducted at Mumbai and Pune sites by Doctors Without Borders India (DWBI) in
Partnership with ICMR- National AIDS Research Institute (NARI) and in support with
National Tuberculosis Elimination Program (NTEP). Main Tasks & Responsibilities
Accountabilities :
Supervising supply chain
Market study and price monitoring
Planning, coordinating, supervising and monitoring on a day-to-day basis the implementation of the
supply activities in the project as specified by the line manager, ensuring compliance to DWBI standards,
protocols and procedures.
Communicating with customers, keeping them up to date concerning their orders status (BO
confirmation) and prioritizing procurement and transport according to their needs
Coordinating and leading the team under his/her responsibility including the definition of each person's
tasks (daily supervision and checking the quality of their work), drawing up working schedule
Supervising, in close coordination with the HR department, the associated processes (recruitment,
training/induction, evaluation, potential detection, development and communication) of the staff under
his/her responsibility in order to ensure both the sizing and the amount of knowledge required
DWBI Section/Context Specific Accountabilities :
Ensures that local purchases are done according to supply system and that quality and services provided
are in line with DWBI standards.
Ensures that orders obtain proper Coordinators approval over a pre-defined threshold.
Works in close cooperation with finance department regarding expenses and advances related to local
orders.
Communicates regularly with initial requesters on the demand: request well received, validation
progress, confirmation of order, ready to ship date, freight advance and monitoring. Inform the
requesters, in case of modifications and delays about their requests.
Delivers the goods to the requesters and have them sign a delivery note upon delivery.
Update and send overview of pending orders to projects & capital upon their request. Advise the project
on lead-time of specific items.
Arrange purchasing schedule on a weekly basis to optimize time. Communicate plan with supervisorand
ensure clear instructions and preparation of documents are ready for the purchase.
Evaluates the market in terms of local suppliers and establishes a list of all contacts of existing suppliers.Specific skills
Ability to organize and prioritize workload & taking initiative when appropriate
Able to integrate into a multi-cultural team and cooperate with co-workers
Able to work independently as well as part of a team and ability to cope with stress.
Good Punctuality and ability to act with responsibility
Demonstrates flexibility in taking up tasks outside of regular job responsibilities as
required and aptitude for humanitarian medical work.
Excellent computer skills (especially MS Office MS Word and MS Excel) & reporting
skills.
Languages: English, Hindi & Marathi. Review prices and product specifications from various suppliers to determine which would provide the
best deal.
Prepare and maintain purchasing records reports and price lists andvalidate suppliers forconsolidationof
orders.
Dispatch and reception of good
Track deliveries and make sure the requester receives exactly what was ordered from suppliers.
Identifies the best transport possible (quality, price, service, time) for each type of cargo anddestination.
Organises all dispatch and its follow up: ensures good preparation of packages and freight ensures that
time frames are respected
Receives material coming from the field and re-dispatches material (stock, repair, after-sales service) Benefits (Non-negotiable)
Monthly Gross Salary: INR 38,890/- and Secondary Benefits as per policies:

Personal Accidental Insurance including dependents Checks that security procedures are followed during the transportation of DWBI material.
Reporting
Participates in monthly reports according to guidelines, i.e. Situation Reports (SitReps), logistical
statistical reports, etc. together with the Supply Chain Officer.
Qualifications: Graduate in any discipline + Essential technical diploma in Supply Chain Duration 12 Months (Renewable)
Location: Mumbai (Based in Mumbai with frequent travel to Pune)
Expected Start Date: 1st November 2020 Experience:
1-2 years in DWBI Logistics Department, previous experience in supply chain activities
