Job Description

Responsibilities

When Team cannot resolve their own impediments, serve as first point of escalation to remove impediments.

• Owns all sprint ceremonies (standup, planning, retrospectives and sprint review/demos), ensures that team follows the scrum development model
• Protects the Team from disruptive external influences and educate External Stakeholders on Agile Principles and Practices ie: How to engage with the Product Owner and Scrum Team
• Develop, implement, radiate and manage team metrics. Evaluate team metrics and make recommendations to teams and management for improvements and how to maximize transparency.
• Provide support for the organization-wide agile adoption strategy and rollout plans.
• Capture feedback and continuously improve Agile guidance, training materials, and content.
• Facilitation of Scrum Ceremonies (Sprint Planning, Retrospective, Daily Stand-up, Backlog Grooming, Sprint Review)
• Challenges, coaches, and guides teams in practicing Agile and advancing team maturity in a way that is aligned to Agile frameworks and Lean principles
• Support a learning Environment providing Advanced level knowledge sharing sessions within the team
• Understand and leverage various Agile frameworks Lean principles as appropriate to provide value to the team or enterprise
• Works with Team to improve the effectiveness of their engineering practices and tools
• Foster collaboration, communication, creativity, empowerment, harmony and happiness of the Team
• Facilitate team-building events

General standards expected to follow

• Be aware at all times of the state of all tasks, new tasks found, changed estimates, and maintain minimum WIP for all team members
• Be aware at all times of existing impediments and have a plan to address each
• Drive the proper, consistent, and timely collection of standard team metrics and their posting to corresponding dashboards in Confluence
• Own sprint metrics, Improve transparency of key metrics, successes, and challenges
• Develop more JBIT (just barely in time) practices for planning, estimating, selecting work, etc.
• Ensure that the team has committed to the Product Increment (PI) plan of record, understanding that change is natural in an agile org.
• Ensure that all stories targeted for the upcoming PI have been sized and right-sized.
• Improve efforts to measure and address technical debt and defects that escape production and sprints
• Share good practices that you have deemed to be effective sideways with other SMs.
• Formalize team growth / maturity plans utilizing the Shu Ha Ri team maturity assessment as a baseline

Requirements:

• Bachelor s degree in Business, Engineering or Computer Science preferred.
• 4 years of Engineering or Program/Project Management experience in a software development environment and in the technology industry.
• 2 years of experience as a dedicated Scrum Master and / or Agile Coach.
• 2,000 hours practicing in at least one Agile approach in the past 2 years.
• Intermediate level Scrum Master certification (CSP).
• Should have worked in Agile Scrum model. Nice to have worked in or have knowledge of Kanban based working model
• Good to have working experience in the Mobile application development environment (Job will be in the Android based application development environment)
• Proactive and innovative with a mindset of continuous improvement needed.
