About the Role: Shall be responsible for matrix managing and developing a team of full stack developers working on Digital Workspace Tools/ products. The ideal applicant will be someone who is both a hands on developer and has worked closely with business users in building and supporting content and collaboration tools and has demonstrable experience innovating with technology to meet business needs.
What you ll do:
Lead the team of software engineers
Act as the Architect and develop new features using JS (React.js), Java, Spring, Hippos CMS on open source platforms such as Discourse.
Work with both in house and external resources on development.
Collaborate closely with design, product and other stakeholders to develop new solutions.
Identify and resolve web performance, usability and scalability issues.
Ensure code integrity standards and code best practice.
Code Reviews.
Identify new technologies or solutions to solve for technical challenges.
What you ll need:
Bachelor of Engineering or a Master s degree in CS.
10 years of experience in software development, of which 2- 3 years must have been in a lead capacity.
Full stack hands on experience in developing web applications using Java, Spring, XML, HTML, CSS and Javascript.
Strong Web UI knowledge and best practice skills, with experience in one or more frontend frameworks (Bootstrap/ Angular JS/ ReactJS/ Backbone/ jQuery).
Experience with relational databases (like Oracle/ MySQL) with strong SQL skills, any PostgreSQL experience is a plus.
Knowledgeable in using development tools, testing frameworks, servlet containers and techniques (Maven, JIRA, GIT/ SVN, Bamboo/ Jenkins, Selenium, JMeter, Tomcat, XP/ TDD).
Ability to solve cross browser issues and understands web accessibility standards.
Experience developing responsive web sites desirable.
Experience in publishing and media environments like Content Management Systems (CMS) and Document Management System like Alfresco is a plus.
Strong desire to improve upon their skills in software development, frameworks and technologies.
Should have significant experience working directly with Business users in problem solving.
Ability to lead and execute a mix of small/ medium sized projects simultaneously.
Excellent Communication and Prioritization skills.
Ability to work collaboratively across the IT organization (infrastructure/ QA/ project & program management groups).
Strong Project Management skills and keen eye on details
Ability to pick up Gartner domain knowledge quickly
