Job Description
Role : Azure Data Architect /Engineer
Job Purpose
Work with the Data Scientists to build data pipeline, get data into the analytics workbench and help operationalise the predictive models in the deployment environment. We are looking for talented Azure PaaS professionals. You'll be working across the full project lifecycle using the latest technologies in the Azure Data Platform, working on requirements' gathering, design, development, implementation and deployment and operationalisation support.
Experience
- Overall 5-7 years of experience in data management
Duties & Responsibilities
- Design and develop new solutions on the Azure Platform specifically for Azure SQL Data Warehouse/DB, Azure Data Factory, Blob Storage, HDInsight
- Experience of using PowerBI will be a plus
- Familiarity with Azure Cognitive Search will be a major plus
- Analyse data pipeline requirements with relevant stakeholders, including data scientists, end users and data custodians
- Prepare plans to address non-functional requirements, including security, AD, integration, performance, scalability, and data federation in a hybrid cloud architecture
- Work and support projects using Agile methodology using JIRA & Confluence
- Ability to mentor team members and provide technical leadership to project team(s) to perform design to deployment related activities, provide guidance, perform reviews, prevent and resolve technical issues
- Enhance existing applications by analysing business objectives, identifying areas for modification and improvement
- Interact and communicate effectively with all levels of staff, senior management and clients/stakeholders
General Responsibilities
- Develop Azure Data skills within the team through knowledge sharing sessions, articles, etc.
- Adherence to organisations Risk & Controls requirements
- Participate in various initiatives/forums/groups and contribute effectively from idea creation to prototype development. Support Strategic programs
Required Competence / Knowledge / Skills (Mandatory)
- 2+ years of in-depth technical knowledge/expertise in the following Azure services; Azure Data Lake, Azure SQL Data Warehouse/DB, Azure Data Factory, Blob Storage
- Experience of at least 2 to 3 projects
- Hands on expertise in ADF, ADL, DB
- Experience of accessing data using APIs
- Experience on Data Modelling
- Ability to translate the business requirements to Functional/technical Specs
- Experience of working with globally distributed teams
