Job Description: Full Stack Developer (Ruby on Rails) or React JS/Node JS/Angular JS/Vue JS
Searching for:
A strong technical and hands on full stack developer. You like switching between writing
new code, identifying buggy code, commenting on mocks, and ensuring that test suite is up
to date.
Ownership you will own features from its conception to development to production
deployment.
A polyglot who is equally comfortable with front end technologies and back end services
A geek who is extremely passionate about Technology, Engineering and "Starting Up" in
general. The person is going to be a part of a closely knit small team of passionate
individuals.
Responsibilities include but not limited to:
Write clean, maintainable and efficient code (server side and front end)
Design robust, scalable and secure features
Integration of user-facing elements with server-side APIs
Identify bottlenecks and bugs, and device solutions to these problems
Follow best practices (test-driven development, continuous integration, refactoring and
code standards)
Help maintain code quality, integrate quality checks as part of Continuous Integration and
automate deployments
Contribute in all phases of the development lifecycle
Drive continuous adoption and integration of relevant new technologies into design
creating an operating mechanism to update the cross functional team on a regular basis
Ideal background:
4+ years of Experience with Ruby on Rails, along with other common libraries such as
RSpec, Active Record, devise etc
Hands on experience on front-end technologies, such as Vue JS / React and JQuery
Solid understanding of object-oriented programming
Familiarity with concepts of MVC, Mocking, ORM, and RESTful APIs
Strong experience working with Linux like Operating Systems and shell environments like
Bash, ZSH
A knack for writing clean, readable Ruby code
Ability to integrate multiple data sources and databases into one system
Understanding of fundamental design principles behind a scalable application
Able to create database schemas that represent and support business processes -
Experience in DB design with PostgreSQL
Working knowledge of background Job processing using Redis and Sidekiq
Able to implement automated testing platforms and write unit and integration tests
Proficient understanding of code versioning using Git is mandatory
Familiarity with development aiding tools such as Bundler, Rake, Webpack
Familiarity with continuous integration
Good understanding of server-side CSS preprocessors such as Sass
Good understanding of HTML5, and CSS3
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related fields or equivalent practical
experience
