SENIOR CLOUD PLATFORM LINUX- ENGINEER
SAP is seeking a Sr. Cloud Platform Linux- Engineer to join HCM Cloud Platform Services Team. Based out Bangalore, You will have an integral part in the operations of products and services into our 10 Global Production Data centres and ensuring superior service delivery to our customers.
The person applying for this role is expected to perform leadership activities, lead and Guide the teams which do production operations support. The Candidate would focus on the needs to develop, document, integrate, and implement new technologies and custom solutions with a focus on performance monitoring (using tools like Zabbix, Splunk), supporting Infrastructure services (like Sendmail, SFTP, AD, DNS, and NTP), and have a good understanding of HTTP/HTTPS traffic, Chef or Puppet Automation, and Splunk development is a plus.
You must lead to troubleshoot technical issues related to all aspects of the infrastructure (Network, Storage, F5, Apache web server, Java/Ruby applications, and database skills are a plus. Candidate must have an interest in automating repeatable processes and offer training and documentation to the team and other supporting departments. This individual will be expected to proactively analyse our environments (for risks to stability, performance, & capacity), and provide recommendations to meet current and future growth. They must be able to work in a fast paced, high demanding environment, and be team oriented.
Required Job Qualifications:
Linux System Administration with experience in Storage and Network troubleshooting.
Server Performance Monitoring
Monitoring and optimizing performance for various services (i.e. Apache, JBoss, Tomcat), OS resources (memory, CPU, disk IO), and platforms (Load balancers, Xen, VMware, Monsoon, UCS, Azure, AWS)
Hands on experience with Azure/AWS/OpenStack cloud solutions and optimize.
Strong hands on experience on virtual (VMware/XEN) and Physical Servers (Cisco UCS, HP, Lenovo)
Extremely Well versed in handling EMC/NetApp Storage on Linux Operating System
Experience on Storage (NAS/SAN) Migrations across different hardware platforms.
Experience in working with HANA/Oracle/MySQL DBAs for Provisioning Storage.
Research and Document the best practices for SAN/NAS Storage on Linux/UNIX OS Systems.
Strong Skills on Linux- LVM
Strong hands on native/Power path MPIO
Hands on experience on handling SSSD, LDAP
Experience on Virtualized Storage on Linux Operating Systems
Experience in SUSE Cluster administration.
Experience with Shell/Perl/python scripting and other programming languages
Experience with Chef/Puppet/Salt/Ansible automation.
Experience on storage Monitoring tools like Zabbix/SolarWinds/Spectrum.
Experience in orchestration in public cloud
Containers/ Kubernetes knowledge and experience
Knowledge in HTTP Headers, HTTPS load balancing, and web transactions.
Researching, developing, and implementing new tools and processes to improve and automate Operational Support
Maintaining OS system security standards, host and client access, and automating required audits.
Acting in a technical leadership capacity to drive challenging projects across different organizational departments
Create detailed technical documentation and provide Training to other entry and intermediate team members.
Experience with Devops tools such as Jenkins, Git etc.. are preferred.
Required Academic and Relevant Experience
B.E./B.Tech/MTech/MCA/MSc Computer Science, Information Systems or equivalent experience
8-12 years Linux system administration
Relevant Industry Certifications a plus (RHCE, VCP, SCSA, CCNA, JNCIA-FWV)
Experience with HANA, Oracle 10g-11g, MS SQL, MySQL, a plus
Experience with Active Directory, DNS, SFTP solution are additional skills which are preferred.
Hands on experience on Storage Devices (EMC/NETAPP) would be an advantage.
INCIDENTAL FUNCTIONS
Assist with projects as may be required to contribute to efficiency and effectiveness of the work.
Attend and resolve incidents and Service Requests
Proactively involve and guide P1/P2 incident calls.
Attend management meetings on behalf of team.
Participate in hiring activities and fulfilling affirmative action obligations and ensuring compliance with the equal employment opportunity policy.
Working outside the standard office 9 hours workday as required; on-call availability.
Strong problem-solving skills across the different Infrastructure layers
Works effectively with a minimal amount of direction

Willingness and ability to handle on-call escalations
Willingness to work in 16*7 environment
Some travel as required.
