The CorStone India Foundation (CIF) works in partnership with the Government of India to build resilience and improve well-being among young people across the country. Our Bihar program, in partnership with BEPC, operates in all 38 districts and reaches more than 40,000 students. We are looking for a visionary, creative, and technically savvy Salesforce Administrator who can lead CorStone to harness the power of Salesforce and drive org-wide user adoption.
We are excited to hire our first full-time Salesforce Administrator! This is a great opportunity for a motivated, mission-driven person to roll up your sleeves and work with a fabulous team in a fast-paced organization currently experiencing exponential growth. You will join our Patna-based team as the in-house technical lead for OSCAR, our Salesforce database and custom mobile data collection application. This position will be responsible for evaluating project requirements, creating technical solutions, training users and driving user adoption, implementing changes, and expanding CorStones data capabilities within our Salesforce environment, which supports program analysis and improvement. The Salesforce Administrator will report to the Director of International Programs, based in the United States, with frequent interaction with our Delhi-based Director of Programs and our Patna-based M&E Coordinator.
Specific Responsibilities
Day to day tasks of this position will include (but is not limited to) setting up workflows/process builder workflows, deleting and archiving records and fields, object customizations, maintaining page layouts, templates, and keeping data integrity in general. Additionally, this position will be responsible for:
System Oversight, Integrity, and Improvement
Oversee and manage all aspects of CorStones Salesforce database and mobile data entry application; ensure that these tools are working as intended to enable CorStone program teams to make programmatic decisions based on high quality data.
Perform all database management and improvement tasks, responding to program and CorStone staff needs, including making regular enhancements to the current Salesforce instance to improve user-friendliness and user adoption.
Implementation and maintenance of Salesforce customizations including configuration, custom fields and objects, layouts, workflows, process builder and validation rules.
Manage Salesforce ticket process and respond to any tickets that arise in a timely fashion, flagging issues that need specific training responses or higher-level management input to resolve.
Complete regular internal system audits, prepare for upgrades, inform users of upcoming system changes that may affect current database operations, and manage all upgrade processes and user support during them.Program Implementation and Management Support
Support M&E and program managers by creating and improving standard reports needed to reflect on the impact and management of the program.
Create useful, intuitive dashboards, train users to utilize them effectively, and troubleshoot any issues that arise.
Participate in quarterly data review discussions to better understand program needs and challenges around Salesforce and the mobile application.Capacity Building
Develop and lead systematic training of new users as well as ongoing capacity building for staff to increase user adoption and to improve user fidelity.
Create a library of user help lessons" that will allow CorStone staff to update their understanding and troubleshoot issues to build their own capacity.
Support M&E Coordinator to promote organization-wide knowledge around the value of good data and how OSCAR supports good data.Maintain Data Quality
Put in place systems and processes for regular data quality checks and repair and manage that system.
Reduce redundancy, enhance data integrity and improve system functionality.Innovation
Guide organizational decisions around utilizing technology to improve reporting and to ensure high quality data.
Support M&E Coordinator to collaborate with the government (BEPC) to develop and adopt effective approaches and/or tools to measure key indicators.
Evaluate, test, and integrate any required third party apps that extend salesforce functionality.
Identify process improvement opportunities and provide recommendations to CIF leadership; design and deploy custom solutions when necessary.
Perform user acceptance testing for key projects and critical enhancement.
Required Education and Certifications
Bachelor's degree in computer science
Salesforce Administrator Certification (ADM201 and ADM211)
Salesforce Development Certification or equivalent experience
Required Experience:
Minimum four years of experience as a Salesforce administrator and developer
Demonstrated experience with Salesforce platform configuration and customization
Experience gathering Salesforce requirements & running Discovery Workshops
Experience administering a fairly complex Salesforce org independently, using best practices
Proven ability to design and implement new processes and facilitate user adoption.
A documented history of successfully driving projects to completionPreferred Experience
Experience providing internal program or M&E IT support within projects or organizations that deliver social, educational, or other development interventions
Experience evaluating and working with field-based data collection tools
Demonstrated experience working effectively with government counterparts on system design and development related to the responsibilities of this position.
Experience with nonprofit processes preferred
Experience training users and creating Salesforce help lessons
Required Skills / Abilities
Full knowledge and understanding of Salesforce best practices and architecture, and how it integrates with other systems
Strong verbal and written communication skills in English
Excellent project management AND problem-solving skills
Proven ability to drive user adoption and bring new users up to speed on SF platforms
Ability to critically evaluate information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, and balance user requests across field, management, and other system needs and constraints
Ability to build custom apps and objects, formula fields, workflows, custom views, and other content of complexity
Ability to design and implement excellent solutions that solve observed problems
Strong understanding of Salesforce best practices and functionality
Strong data management, organization, and analysis abilities
Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines, handle, and prioritize simultaneous requests
Ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization
Ability to effectively explain a complex database environment to end users in everyday or non-technical language
Ability to assess the impact of new requirements on Salesforce.com and all upstream and downstream applications, systems, and processes that are impacted
