The Department of Pharmacy and Pharmacology is an internationally renowned Department with over 90% of our research rated as world leading or internationally excellent in the recent REF exercise. Overall, we ranked in the top 3 of universities with a School of Pharmacy. The Department is committed to supporting excellence in research and teaching and offers both undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in Pharmacy and Pharmacology http://www.bath.ac.uk/pharmacy. It wishes to appoint a superlative academic in Pharmacy Practice (ideally specialising in medicines management and optimisation and/or health outcomes) at a Senior Lecturer/Reader level commensurate with experience. The over-arching strategy for this recruitment is to identify an outstanding individual with an innovative research profile that complements and augments existing strengths within the department. The practice of pharmacy is dynamic and changing and needs to be underpinned by evidence derived from research and strong leadership by an individual with oversight and insight of the profession. As such, the post-holder would provide professional and research leadership in Pharmacy Practice and support the strategic development of our taught programmes. It is anticipated that the post-holder will have strong research networks and collaborations at national and international level. This post is intended to make a significant contribution to research capacity. The post-holder will be expected to teach in aspects of Pharmacy at undergraduate and postgraduate level.
