Responsible for ...

This team commonly does work to ensure the functioning of the following systems on the platform:

• Various PHP and Ruby services which carry out common web hosting tasks.
• PHP (FPM and CLI)
• New Relic
• Memcache
• Drush
• Drupal

The ideal candidate is

Skills required include, but not limited to:

• Object-oriented programming (language doesn t matter as much as solid experience)
• Ruby OR PHP (Ideally modern, object-oriented)

• Linux command line (Bash)

• Linux administration and configuration

• API design (REST vs RPC doesn t matter so much, just experience writing and designing APIs is a plus)
• Experience with debian packaging (this can be taught)
• Git
• Jira
• Help lead a team of Software Engineers
• Reviewing/approving code
• Solutions architecture
• RFC authoring

Job Qualifications

• Passion for web systems and development that help create exceptional online experiences.
• 6 years (staff) of experience building similar solutions
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related discipline preferred.
• Proven delivery skills, working with software engineering teams in an Agile environment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Nice to have skills

• Puppet configuration management
• Knowledge of Drupal configuration
