Job Description

1. To assist the resident medical officers in taking history and physical examination.

2. To put daily rounds on doctor's progress sheet checked and supervised by the resident doctors.

3. To coordinate for the referrals calls to the consultants as per the instructions of primary consultant.

4. To coordinate with nurses to ensure that appropriate investigations are done and report to medical officers for the same.

5. To coordinate with the completion of discharge summary as directed by the resident doctors.

6. Clinical assistants needs to get trained for taking history taking, recording of vitals, medical documentation, MLC procedures, ambulance call protocols, under supervision of resident medical officers, registrars and casualty medical officers.

7. The clinical assistant can assist RMO in all bed side procedures and needs to get trained in some basic procedures like IV cannulation, RT insertion, Foley's catherisation, dressing etc. under the supervision of resident medical officers, registrars and casualty medical officers.

8. The clinical assistants can go for the clinical rounds along with the residents and gain knowledge regarding the clinical status including the diagnosis of the patient and the plan of care and treatment orders as prescribed by the consultant doctor.

9. Clinical assistant needs to participate in health check up camps
