JOB Purpose:
- Provide a professional operations & maintenance service to one of the Telecom
operators in Middle East region
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
- Engineer comprises the delivery of 8*5 monitoring for VAS systems in terms of
availability, performance, and thresholds and executing day to day operation for all
service in scope and be available for On-call support incase if there are any Critical /
Major alarms arises.
Routine Actions:
- Responsibilities includes providing L1/ L2 support on the VAS
(SMSC,VMS,MCN,OTA,USSD,WRMS,LBS etc) issues assigned or escalated in the MS
Operations
- Take care of routine tasks related to VAS (SMSC,VMS,MCN,OTA,USSD,WRMS,LBS etc)
and changes required in the respective nodes as per the rectifications and incidents.
- Work as per the SLAs and provide solutions.
- Provide the detailed information for the problems solved and update the tools or the
shift registers.
- Handle the Alarms generated in I2K tool
- Keep up the interaction with the teams working on the issues to avoid any time delays
- Technically support the resolving major incident. Perform Root Cause Analysis for
frequently occurring issues and escalate & provide permanent fix.
- Review and assessment technical solution of major change and Evaluate impact of
change from a solutions point of view
- Provide training to new members / system users and re-training to existing users on
new functionalities
- Provide work wise periodic status report to BO lead / PM (weekly, monthly)
- Ready to work on urgency and on call basis during emergency ( including Holidays)
- Validating and maintaining the Known Error Database (KEDB) for VAS (not limited to
SMS,VMS,MCN,OTA,USSD,WRMS,LBS and etc).
- Identify opportunities for improvement and in helping to evaluate alternative solutions.
- Update and maintain data used for reporting on technical and service capabilities.
- Conducts reviews on Problem and Known Errors that have been identified and action
taken to verify that all steps were completed and the objective of the process was
achieved.
- Track and report recurring problems or failures and provide associated consequences
of problems if there is a business impact to Customer.
- Recommend solutions to address recurring problems or failures.
- Provide regular updates on high priority problems in timescales agreed with the
business.
- Report on Problem Management performance identifying action plans for outstanding
problems.
- Quick leaner of the required technical knowledge and team player.
Preferred Experiences
- Bachelor Degree in ECE/Computer Science (IT) / Computer Science/ or related fields.
- 3 to 5 years or more experiences in VAS (SMSC,VMS,MCN,OTA,USSD,WRMS,LBS etc)
- Good knowledge on Oracle, Linux and Huawei BSS products
- Excellent Troubleshooting skills.

- % Changes done without any issues
- Number of valuable knowledge added to the database
