Job Description

Role Objective

Facilitator Trainer for Tinkering Lab under the United Way Delhis STEM (Tinkering Lab) Education program, would be stationed in Noida (UP) or New Delhi. The trainer would be required to manage multiple activities in the school & community related to Tinkering Lab (STEM) project. He/she would be main anchor for school & community to improve the STEM learning environment of the school and successful implementation of the program.


Essential Functions

  • Candidate has to work on innovative Arduino/electronics & IoT projects, designing and building robots.
  • Plans a STEM program involving demonstrations, lectures, discussions, and student experiments; organizes laboratory activities for optimal learning.
  • Conducting training, workshop and events for schools, developing training materials, facilitating Idea generation for real-life problem solving.
  • Hardware Prototyping and Testing.
  • Develop and schedule regular lab experiences that support classroom science curriculum through collaboration with teachers; Facilitates Tinkering Lab Sessions to groups of students from 06-10th standards, with a particular emphasis on leadership development through the activities.
  • To ensure that all lessons are planned, delivered with clear aims and objectives in line with tinkering lab curriculum.
  • To encourage all students to be actively engaged in their own learning and in reviewing their progress against targets; to encourage and foster intellectual curiosity with help of school head and science in charge; evaluates each students growth in knowledge, skills, and scientific attitudes in course being taught; To ensure the maintenance of accurate and up-to-date information on all classes taught.
  • Organize Community/Parents engagement as per plan and shortlist eligible students for scholarships.
  • Plan, design and organize 1-2 major science exhibitions and donor employee engagement activities in the school and help other school program in event organizing;
  • Identify Girls students for the scholarship program in coordination with program coordinator.
  • Ensures proper use, care, and safe handling of all equipment at the lab; provides for safe storage and proper use of materials, equipment, and tools. Makes minor adjustments and requests repairs to equipment as required.
  • To keep work areas tidy and organised to promote safety in the laboratory. To keep well up to date with safety issues through regular checking.
  • Produce reports for the program on assessment data, activities including monthly reports.
  • To ensure effective communication and consultation with parents and carers of students.
  • To monitor student attendance in lessons and ensure that follow-up procedures are put in place where necessary.
  • Other tasks assigned by the Program Manager to meet program objectives.

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Necessary to Performance of Essential Functions:

  • Should have good knowledge in Embedded Systems, Arduino and C Programming, C++ Programming, MS-Word, Teaching Aptitude.
  • Knowledge of Electronic/Electronics tools and know its functioning.
  • Possess problem solving skills; facilitation, multi-tasking, event management skills and strong communication skills.

Required Education and Training for Essential Functions:

  • B.E. / B. Tech. degree in EEE/ECE
  • Minimum 01 year experience in electrical/electronic related project/teaching post graduation.

Remuneration:

INR 3.0 3.6 Lakh per annum minus the applicable taxes + TA and Communication cost as per the organizations policy.
