Senior Cobol Developer / Architect - Pune @ Client Sampoorna

Job Description

As a senior member of the team you would be responsible for building and driving existing products for the clients. Develop frameworks, infrastructure and high performance team in a hybrid cloud environment. Please note this is a hands-on position.

Work with cutting edge tools and technologies and automation using DevOps/CICD.

Role would involve interaction with the product engineering team and architects to deliver the best of breed applications.

Required Candidate profile

At least 6+ years of recent experience in leading and driving software development in COBOL & Mainframes and overall minimum 8+ yrs of experience.
Must have some experience as Architect with solid experience in COBOL programming.
Good in-depth knowledge of COBOL, preferably RMCOBOL. The familiarity of Linux environment, ISCOBOL IDE
Understanding of FlexGen interfaces, ISAM COBOL files beneficial but not required
Detailed understanding of software development life-cycle. Procedural programming as well as new age object oriented programming practices.
Experience working in an Agile/Scrum and SDLC development process. Must have experience in interacting with business, understanding requirements, design and leading team using Agile methodologies
Exposure to Defect Management, Testing & Project management tools is required
Knowledge of system integration and ETL tools would be beneficial but not a must.
Eager to learn newer technologies, cloud environment and modern stacks.
BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related subject
