Position Title: Leader Software Testing
Department: R&D
Reports To: Local Head of R&D, matrix BU-SF Head of DQA Objectives
- Accountable for a disciplined application of software test engineering practice in order to achieve success of a design, testing, and customer acceptance.
Main Responsibilities
- Deliver a tested software solution against specified customer and technical requirements
- Accountable for the quality of all technical documents and results.
- Drives automation of software testing using industry accepted as well as innovative solutions.
- Contribute to final software and function reliability and robustness
Key Daily Tasks
- Participate in defining the software requirements and ensure their test-ability
- Design a software test plan
- Develop reusable test cases based on the project and customer needs
- Incorporate technical feedback from customers and service technicians to improve the robustness of test cases
- Execute a test suite and document the test results
- Promote on test automation wherever possible through implementing innovative testing approaches
- Communicate and reports any defects to the design team
- Ensure fixed defects are retested using the same test cases
- Describe the software / function commissioning process in the overall machine commissioning.
- Support and actively contribute to implementation of Agile principles
- Regularly participate in the scrum meetings
- Collaborate closely with specialists from Group IT and R&D to shape solutions and methods in line with group strategy
- Communicate to leadership on the testing execution and status
Critical Skills and Personal Attributes
- Proven object oriented programming skill (Delphi, C++, C#) GitHub account?
- Proficient with use of software repositories Git, Subversion
- Familiarity with CI/CD systems Jenkins, Microsoft Azure
- Ability to test user interface is a plus (Selenium, Squish, Sikuli)
- Practical knowledge of at least one test framework (NUnit, DUnit is a plus)
- Experience in software development, experience in cloud solutions
- Practical experience with embedded software is a plus
- Experience with Agile/Scrum framework is a plus
- Familiarity with various packaging and converting processes is an advantage ((corrugated board, folded carton)
- Strong ability for cross-functional integration
- Capacity to adapt to different cultures
- Excellent communication skills
- Independent self-starter and self-learner be up to date with the latest information technologies relevant for IoT, cloud and DevOps.
- Proactive work style, reliable and accountable
- Acting with transparency and openness
- Takes ownership and responsibility
- Willingness to travel <10% of the time
Education and Experience
Education
- Minimum bachelor degree or equivalent in software engineering , mechatronic, electronic design or automation
- English (min B2 level), French, German or Chinese is a plus
- ISTQB certification is a plus
Background
- Proven experience with mechanical, mechatronic, electronic design or automation
- At least 5 years of experience working in a software testing or software development
- Previous experience in a DevOps function is an advantage
- experience in a machine building industry is a plus
