Qualifications
- A first degree in English
- A second degree in English or English Literature or Education
- Ed
- Evidence of recent and relevant continuing professional development
Professional Experience
- Minimum of three years teaching experience
- Successful teaching experience throughout TGT (Classes 6 to 9 especially) of English
- Experience of virtual teaching and knowledge of blended learning
- Experience of being a class teacher
- Evidence of contributing to the personal development of students
Professional Knowledge and Understanding
- To have a good, up-to-date knowledge and understanding of a range of learning and teaching strategies and know how to use and adapt them, including how to personalise learning
- To know how to implement formative assessment strategies to raise attainment
- To know the assessment requirements and arrangements for Classes 9 and 10 Board Science Examinations
- To know how to use ICT to support their teaching and wider professional activities
Professional Skills
- Ability to use a very good range of learning and teaching strategies
- Ability to use formative assessment to monitor progress and raise attainment
- Ability to set realistic and challenging targets for improvement and planning future teaching
- Ability to create a stimulating and conducive physical and emotional learning environment
- Ability to apply ICT and new learning technologies as an effective learning and teaching strategy
