Job Description
As an Engineering manager, you will identify, hire and build a world-class team of Development Engineers to define, drive and execute on OYO s vision. You will develop a team of highly motivated and talented individuals that can collaborate with Product Managers, Firmware Application Developers, Hardware Engineers and SDEs across the company. You will design, build and own various features and programs to deliver delightful, resilient and reliable products at-scale.
What responsibilities will you get when working with us
- Work on cutting-edge IoT technologies that power 360k+ rooms, enabling automated and faster guest check-ins, energy savings, augmented guest experiences and efficient operations
- Responsible for the overall firmware/software development life-cycle and manage complex projects with significant business impact
- Work with the CTO, PM and Business to develop a long-term product plan and manage the release planning cycles for multiple products
- Instill best practices for firmware/software development, ensure designs/code meet requirements and deliver high-quality work on schedule
- Project management - prioritization, planning of projects and features, stakeholder management and tracking of external commitments
- Ability to discover the true requirements underlying feature requests, translate them into technical solutions, and lead engineering efforts to meet timelines
- Operational Excellence - monitoring & operation of production devices deployed across the globe
- Career management, growth and development of direct reports
What will you need to be successful in this role
- A Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, or related technical discipline
- 5+ years of Software Development experience
- 2+ years of experience in building and leading strong engineering teams
- Deep hands-on technical experience in RTOS, at-least one of these Wireless technologies (BLE 4.2 or 5.0 with Mesh, LoRaWAN, 6LoWPAN, Zigbee, Thread, Sub-GHz RF), interfacing with multiple devices on UART, I2C, SPI, object-oriented design, data structures, algorithm design, High-level architecture design and complexity analysis
- Good-to-have: Experience of working on IoT projects at-scale - Smart-lock, Home Automation, Vehicle tracking, etc.
- Track record of data-driven decisions
- Ability to prioritize competing features and requirements
