Your Role and Responsibilities
As Datastage Developer, you are responsible for requirements gathering, System Designing, Data modeling, and ETL design, development, Production Enhancements, Support and Maintenance.

The IBM CIO organization is looking for an experienced ETL developer to work as a member of our internal agile software development squad. We play a major role in delivering new technology to the IBMers. Our applications are built by self-directed, end-to-end development squads, and we are looking for an ETL developer who will collaborate with multiple squads to provide technical leadership to implement the Pr****g@*** strategy.
Our strategy includes migrating from DataStage to new ETL technology as we migrate to IBM cloud services infrastructure.
Key experiences required include Apache SPARK, Apache Kafka, Python, and Parquet formats. Also, since much of our existing ETL is coded in DataStage, significant experience using DataStage is needed. Experience with Scala would also be nice to have, and experience in converting legacy ETL into the newer technologies is highly valued as well.
You will also be responsible involved in using the DevOps tools for continuous integration, builds, and monitoring of the solutions. You will join and exciting team, in an open landscaped, collaborative environment using agile delivery methods.
The ETL developer job duties include:

• Serve as overall subject matter expert on ETL technology design based on market capabilities/trends and alignment with other internal IBM ETL implementations.
• Lead the migration of ETL components into the new cloud based environments for the Pr****g@*** initiative.
• Collaborate with other technical leaders to transform high-level technical objectives into comprehensive technical requirements and designs.
• Formulate detailed design specifications and data mapping for stable and secure computing operations in a dynamic cloud based environment.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in parallel job design working
• Proficient in DataStage v8.5 or greater
• Demonstrated experience in solid ETL design, coding, testing and debugging skills
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in writing SQL against relational databases (DB2 preferable)
• Demonstrated experience in reading, creating and enhancing source to target mapping documents
• Proven knowledge of Extraction, Transformation and Loading concepts, including proven technical knowledge of ETL tools (DataStage), RDBMS and the ability to understand and interpret data models
• Proven proficiency in understanding relational database concepts
• Proficient Unix and Linux environments
• Demonstrated experience in analyzing impact of proposed solutions across the business, developing use cases and source to target data mappings
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills
• Strong work ethic and strong eagerness to learn

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise

• Demonstrated experience with IBM Cognos Reporting would be a plus
• 2 plus years in Full-stack development experience (AngularJS, Node.js, jQuery), with a stronger need for backend experience
• 2 plus years of advanced practice of Agile development methodologies
• 2 plus years of experience in DevOps (for example: Jenkins, Travis CI, UrbanCode Deploy, Nagios)
• Experience in Jasmine/Karma or a similar unit/functional testing framework
• Experience in Test Driven Development (TDD)
• Experience in Automated Testing
• Experience with Data Science / Data Analyst and their associated tools
