Job Description

This role is primarily responsible to manage all key aspects of the Synthetic chemistry research and development operations, including operational efficiency, infrastructure, and personnel.
The head of synthetic chemistry will be responsible for driving medicinal chemistry efforts in the synthesis of small molecules, peptides and phytochemicals aligning with the focus of the organization
To ensure efficient running of the division, and overseeing scientific deliverables
Contribute to, and drive, synthetic chemistry programs as a senior level medicinal chemist working on a multidisciplinary project team including participation in design of target molecules
Establish partnering strategies to leverage external knowledge and capabilities
Plan and execute on resource allocation to achieve project goals
Identify the issues of concern, as well as possible solutions, especially regarding improvement of technical capability, morale, and productivity of the scientists.

Desired Candidate Profile
Ph.D. in synthetic organic chemistry with experience as a medicinal chemistry leader in a pharmaceutical company
Research experience in synthesis and optimization of small molecules, peptides and phytochemicals.
Experience in lead optimization, and scale up to pilot and production level
