Roles and Responsibilities
- Installation, configuration and troubleshooting of Server, Linux, Windows & Data Backup.
- Maintain Linux servers, windows servers and client machines.
- Troubleshooting skills and root cause analysis of issues on LINUX OS server, VMware.
- Knowledge of Virtualization technologies: VMware & Hyper-V.
- To manage Technical support as system admin.
- To coordinate with multiple domain owners for technical resolution.
- Windows Active Directory & Group policy Administration.
- Manage SQL databases.
- Providing support for an administration of Microsoft SQL Server instances on a variety of Windows versions.
- Performing data modelling and administration of relational databases and performance tuning of SQL, both in terms of data model updates and scalability.
- Monitoring, administering, and implementing performance tuning functions on distributed database systems in support of the operational baseline.
- Developing non-database program components (i.e. developing shell scripts to load or dump database information).
- Developing and projecting long-range requirements for database design and administration.
- Working with the Enterprise Architect to design SQL Server database solutions that meet requirements, are highly performant, and highly available.
- AWS & Azure server management for cloud based services.
Desired Candidate Profile
- 3+ years of experience in System Administration.
- Hands-on knowledge & working experience on System Admin, Redhat & backup software.
- Administrating Linux servers, windows servers and client machines.
- Troubleshooting skills and root cause analysis of issues on UNIX/LINUX OS server, VMware.
- Virtualization technologies: VMware & Hyper-V.
- Experience providing operational support and administration of large, complex environment with Microsoft SQL Server instances Ability to proactively identify, troubleshoot, and resolve database issues.
- Hands-on experience with SQL database architectures, designs, and security best practices involving multi-data center and Azure environments.
- Expertise with configuring, implementing, and supporting large, high availability SQL Server environments, including experience with replication, log shipping and database mirroring.
- Ability to effectively plan, manage, and prioritizes complex tasks and projects.
- Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and organized; ability to manage time effectively and have the propensity to handle urgent interruptions professionally.
- Good written and verbal communication.
Preferred Skills/qualifications
- Experience with PowerShell, Bash scripting.
- Good working knowledge of infrastructure such as Storage, Network, and Operating System.
- Working knowledge of Linux servers, windows servers.
- Business and System architecture experience.
- Knowledge of data base - SQL, MySQL, MariaDB, basic networking.
- Thorough understanding of virtual environments (NetApp, Azure, AWS)
