We are looking for a Lead Statistician in Global Development (GD) unit based out of Global Business Service (GBS), Bangalore, India. You can look forward to an exciting job driving different projects and engaging with multiple stakeholders at the global level.
The position
As a Lead Statistician you will be responsible for conduct of statistical analyses, and reporting of data and statistical results of clinical trials using statistical methods in accordance with the project standards, give statistical input to trial outline and protocol with regards to design, sample size, and analysis of endpoints in accordance with the Project Statistical Analysis Plan (SAP), ensuring input from the Project Statistician/International Project Statistician, negotiate, persuade and influence key stakeholders on study design, rationale, etc. during the study design phase, review protocol and Case Record Form (CRF), Trial Validation Plan (TVP).
Conduct statistical analyses including programming and review of statistical outputs as required and ensure preparation of other outputs according to protocol and SAP and also collaborate closely with IMD, Clinical Pharmacology Scientist and other key members of study group to get input for presenting results at the results meeting, ensure review by Project Statistician/International Project Statistician. And you perform meta-analysis, ad-hoc analysis, exploratory analysis as required.
The Lead Statistician takes initiative and assists in solving demanding tasks and the role requires an independent, committed, detail and result oriented person. Analytical skills and a high focus on quality are important
You are also responsible to mentor less experienced Statisticians and also coordinate and provide input and get frequent feedback on trials handled by less experienced Statisticians and share better practices, using project standards and Biostatistics guidelines
Qualifications
You need to have the below knowledge and skills.
MSc. in Statistics or equivalent qualifications
At least 6-8 years of experience working as a statistician within the pharmaceutical industry
Experience with the statistical software package SAS
Experience with a broad range of statistical tasks
Extensive experience with practical applications of biostatistical methodology
Broad experience with statistical software and IT and in-depth experience with at least one statistical software package
Experience with mentoring of staff

The team has a good blend of experience and fresh perspective and comprises experienced statisticians and programmers, who form the core of the team. The main purpose & objective is to ensure high quality in preparing and conducting statistical analysis in accordance with the project milestones and provide statistical support and expertise to all clinical development activities within Novo Nordisk.
