Software Test Engineer - Manual testing @ Drishti

About this role

As Drishti's frontend portal evolves and grows, functionality will be rapidly added - through integrations, customizations, responsiveness, devices and more. A software test engineer will be responsible for shipping bug free product, working with the product documents / wireframes to make exhaustive test cases while the engineering development is on, testing the product, and ideally - helping locate the bug to backend or frontend, and documenting it. This may require coordination with other non-engineering team members using the product. If equipped with strong computer science skills and prior experience with automation testing frameworks, a good tester can later grow into an automation testing role.

Minimum qualifications

• 2+ years experience of hands on testing and testing software development for web mobile applications

• Bachelor s in Computer Science/Electrical engineering or related from a good college

• Experience looking at web applications, understanding it's functionality, and list comprehensive positive and negative test cases

• Demonstrated experience as a self-starter - preferably in a start-up for an early stage product

• Analytical and documenting skills to document the test cases, along with full user journeys, inputs and screenshots to engineering team for correction

• Familiarly and understanding of REST APIs, HTML JavaScript - to help diagnose the tests to the input, frontend or other. Familiarly with Postman and browser debugging tools help

• Experience and browser-based automation testing (example selenium or appium for apps)

• Experience with unit testing

• Diligence and experience in testing portals and apps on different devices, and understanding how the responsive functionality should work

• Attention to detail to try and test out the use cases with diligence

• Communication skills to coordinate with other stakeholders, including customer success and sales
