Job Description
Responsibilities: Preparation of WPS-(Welding procedure specification) and WPQRs-(Welding procedure qualification records) for different welding processes like GMAW, GTAW and stud welding etc. Establishment and implementation of welding procedures, shop weld plan, NDT inspection plans. Conducting welder performance qualification and verification for compliance of records of welder performance qualification. Preparation of training calendar, planning and conducting trainings to welding inspectors and welders. Witness of visual examinations, preparing and verifying visual and NDE inspection requirement for before, during and after welding stages. Verifying the implementation of non-destructive testing. Performing planned and surprise audits on the shop floor to check the process parameters (welding instructions compliance, welders qualification as per the job, welding procedures implementation, process sequence, welding equipment calibrations) are as per requirements. Interpretation of engineering documents e.g. BOM, drawings to understand the welding symbols requirements, process sequence and make the work instructions, weld maps and weld sequences for the production department. Estimation of welding consumables for new and running projects. Jointly working with design and manufacturing engineering to resolve materials joining issues before and during manufacturing. Feasibility study of new projects, of contract requirements regarding base materials, welding consumables and NDE aspects during project execution. Approving quality requirements of welding consumables (Welding wires, gas etc.) at incoming quality stage. In process control of dimensional quality, PPD area and welding quality. Any other work entrusted by the Management from time to time. Submit monthly reports on due dates as may be specified from time to time Responsible to ensure 5S at workplace on daily basis Essential Requirements:
Essential Requirements: BE/B.Tech Mechanical Engineering/Diploma (ME). Professional Qualifications:- IWE/ IWT, CWI/ CSWIP, NDT Level 2
