Job Description

1. Company Overview

MiracleFeet Foundation for Eliminating Clubfoot (Miraclefeet India) is a registered non-profit organisation (NGO), working to address the problem of untreated clubfoot in India. Clubfoot is a congenital birth defect wherein one or both the feet are turned inwards, making it a leading cause of disability in children. An estimated 175,000 children are born with clubfoot each year, 33,000 of which are born in India. A survey estimated that only 13% of children born with clubfoot in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs) are currently accessing treatment. Untreated clubfoot can be extremely painful and such patients are at a higher risk of discrimination, physical and sexual abuse, neglect, illiteracy and inequality.

Clubfoot can very easily be treated using the Ponseti method, which is considered an effective, inexpensive, minimally invasive and the gold-standard treatment for clubfoot that is well suited to low resource environments.

Miraclefeet India is working to ensure that no child grows up disabled as a result of being born with clubfoot. We provide organizational, technical, and financial support to clinics to increase access to treatment for children born with clubfoot. Our objective is to increase coverage of clubfoot treatment from less than 15% to over 70% in India.

We operate and administer our own clubfoot programs in partnership with the Government, along with select charitable/trust hospitals. MiracleFeet India operates weekly clubfoot clinic day(s) in select hospitals so that parents of children with clubfoot have access at a reasonable distance and time. We make investments in the areas of medical training in Ponseti method, human resources in the form of program executives & managers to help with implementation of our program, technology, carrying out outreach activities, dropout prevention and monitoring and evaluation. We also provide low cost foot abduction braces which have been designed along with Stanford d. Schools Extreme Affordability course.

Miraclefeet India has presence in Uttar Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh, Haryana, Nagaland, Mizoram, Tripura, Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra.

Globally, Miraclefeet is present in over 28 countries and has enrolled 48,000 children across their clinics.

2. POSITION SUMMARY

This position exists to manage all finance tasks such as monthly management accounts schedules, Bank Reconciliations and related reconciliations, MIS and other related tasks. The position holder would be responsible for complete financial accounting, Cash and Bank Management.

5. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES/ KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

MIS:

  • Oversee the financial operations of the organization and ensure timely and accurate financial reports and practices including cash management, payroll, financial disbursements, ledgers etc.
  • Responsible for maintaining Tally and maintaining all financial records for program and for the organization.
  • Develop annual budgets broken down by state, by major expenditure heads, flag deficit and cash flow issues based on donor receipts.
  • Monitor the expenditures and provide information to management to ensure that funds are utilized appropriately by the close of the fiscal year
  • Review and ensure completeness and accuracy of all transactions (income, unutilized grants, accruals, provision for expenses etc.) for the month and compile monthly P&L statements and send the reports to CEO as per agreed timelines
  • Co-Manage the entire process (applicability, deduction, deposit and returns) of employee related statutory payments of PF, ESI, and professional tax

Audits:

  • Work closely with Internal Auditor for process and compliance audit.
  • Work closely with External Auditor for finalization of accounts, FCRA submission, Compliances, and Donor utilization certificates.

Planning and Review:

  • Work closely with the fundraising team and program team to manage organisation finances.
  • Drive improvement in policies, processes, systems and internal control of the organisation e.g. segregation of duties, maker checker, masters (vendor, employee, customer, chart of accounts etc.), process improvement, documentation of SOPs
  • Provide financial inputs for godown, medical supplies, travel, and others.
  • Develop financial reports (cost-centre, by donor, by state) by month and track variance against budgets.

Cash & Bank:

  • Dealing with Bankers on regular basis
  • Performing reconciliations of selected ledger accounts and bank details on a monthly or quarterly basis.

Ad-hoc Accounting Duties:

  • Producing ad hoc reports and reconciliations as required by the Finance Head
  • Refine, maintain and develop various reports required by the key stakeholders as per agreed timelines with high level of accuracy and integrity
  • Managing and supervising the Administrative and Financial systems and processes of the organization including Donor administration, Purchasing, managing vendors and other stakeholders

6. POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Level of Education


Bachelor of Commerce / Master in Commerce or equivalent

Experience


5 to 7 years of experience in financial accounting
