Job Description
Senior Software Engineer (SSE) position requires a motivated, enthusiastic, and pro-active engineer with an excellent 'can-do' attitude. As part of our Data extraction team the SSE will be responsible for development of applications and tools using Java and should also have great command on SQL to manage and reconcile huge databases. SSE will be responsible for assigned areas of the product and must ensure that individual and team deadlines are met. SSE should maintain proactive communication with US counterparts on projects that the individual or the team assigned to. SSE is also responsible for mentoring and grooming the team members.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Estimates, designs, code and test applications using Java technologies
- Creates application design specifications and document coding efforts.
- Analyze diverse and Medium to Complex business and technical problems and provide solutions.
- Involve in the technical design and prepare clear design documents.
- Timely Completion of Assignments with Quality.
- Troubleshooting and debugging technical problems.
- Create and implement Unit Test Plans and unit test cases.
- Involve in Peer Code review process.
- Provides regular status update to the project Lead and project Manager.
- Work on projects related to Data Extraction and Verification
- Reconcile the values from different data sources
- Analyze data from databases and submit a summary report
- Completes tasks assigned by Management with a sense of urgency and confidentiality where needed.
- Ensure quality work product is delivered by adhering to all the Quality Assurance & control measures laid out without any deviation
- Ensure adherence to Service Line Agreement always.
- To attend and actively participate in meetings, offering ideas, insights and recommendations towards process improvements, which will enable team to improve its overall efficiency.
- Tracking the updates in SOPs/Job Aid for internal and external reference.
- Prioritization of projects and assist TLs/AMs in work assignment
- Coordinate the workflow and Project management in collaboration with Leads internally & US Stakeholders
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor s degree in Information Systems or Accounting preferred
- 4+ years of full-time Java development experience
- Front End experience (HTML, DHTML, JavaScript, CSS) preferred
- Solid Java / JEE skills
- Solid Structured Query Language (SQL) Skills
Skills:
- Good analytical, problem-solving, negotiation, task and project management, and organizational skills
- Experience in understanding release and deployment processes into production environments
- Strong Experience in Object Oriented Design, Relational Database Design, and XML Design
- Ability to collaborate and brainstorm with other developers in a team environment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Strong English communication skills verbal and written
- High attention to detail
- Ability to meet strict deadlines
