The company is privately owned and based in Santa Clara, CA.Position: Linux NOC EngineerWork Location: Hyderabad / BhimavaramResponsibilities:
- Collaborate with the Technical Services Manager and Project Engineers on commissioning and troubleshooting issues relating to systems deployment and service.
- Provide local and remote support for technical issues affecting system operations.
- Support service contractors and OEMs on systems architecture and service protocols.
- Maintain knowledge base system support information and operations.
- Work with engineering team to investigate faults and implement the appropriate response to resolve critical system performance issues.
- Resolve applications faults / system faults within the designated Service Level Agreement (SLA) timelines and budgets.
- Support planned Operation and Preventative Maintenance processes.
- Maintain technical troubleshooting manuals and workflows to aid in efficiently addressing system operational faults.
- Act as a point of contact for customer issues, complaints and requests.
- Investigate and test alternative system hardware and tools to drive cost savings and system resiliency.
- Assist in tracking and reporting monthly operating system performance metrics for review by the executive management team.
- Perform root cause analysis for common system faults and implement standard solutions to efficiently address future issues.
- Perform proactive and reactive monitoring of all systems components using various network management and monitoring tools available.
- Provide timely and accurate customer and management notifications for systems outages using available notification systems.
- Perform detailed problem documentation of systems incidents and outages.
- Perform timely escalation of systems problems/outages.
- Perform proactive and reactive troubleshooting of systems problems.
- Coordinate systems activities with vendors and other systems components.
- Provide input for the Knowledgebase.
- Document all troubleshooting efforts through the tools mentioned above. This documentation shall be updated throughout the troubleshooting process.
Required Qualifications
- 2/3+ years experience working in large-scale production environments
- Strong troubleshooting skills and experience with Linux
- Advanced understanding of Linux, Networking, and Internet principles
- Programming skills in one or more scripting languages
- Experience in monitoring infrastructure and applications using tools like Nagios, Prometheus & InfluxDB
- Experience with automation tools such as Puppet, Chef, Terraform or Ansible
- Experience with both cloud and physical infrastructure (AWS a plus)
- Experience with container management solutions such as Kubernetes.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, results-driven environment
- Experience implementing technologies with a focus on operability, reliability, and scalability
