Job Description
As a Product Owner your primary responsibilities will include:
- 5+ years of experience on Tax and Accounting, Financial or Legal management software as an Analyst.
- Knowledge of Agile methodologies
- Intermediate level of knowledge about Accounting or Tax.
- Fluent English speaking, writing, reading and listening.
- Experience on writing test scenarios.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assists in the elicitation and documentation of business requirements.
- Begins to outline improvements and revisions for low complexity or standard business processes with guidance from more experienced colleagues.
- Translate basic or low complexity business requirements into technical solutions with guidance.
- Maintains a relationship with stakeholders
- Uses a structured requirement process to assess near-term needs.
- Adheres to metrics to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Liaise between business and technology teams to ensure change management and communication of change to team is done in a systematic way for low complexity projects
- Implements improvements to process or product as directed by management.
- Develops a basic awareness and understanding of Thomson Reuters technologies, products, and services, including a basic understanding of how technical solutions impact the business.
SCOPE & IMPACT:
- Performs work within one business segment and/or module within a product engaging in less complex business processes within a project context to gather and specify business requirements or to work on the next stage of the requirements process to conduct systems analysis.
- Works with project team members for projects of small to medium scope and simple to moderate complexity, or sub-projects within a large or highly complex project with technical and managerial direction.
- Accountable for the quality of own work, delivered within agreed procedures and timeframes and focused on internal and/or external customer needs.
- Quality of work is regularly reviewed by more senior colleagues and/or manager to ensure it is delivered within agreed procedures and timeframes and focused on internal and/or external customer needs.
- Works independently within defined parameters, taking ownership of problems within own area of knowledge, escalating as appropriate.
- Decisions are made within guidelines set by others.
- Receives direct guidance and supervision in day to day work.
KNOWLEDGE & SKILL:
- Understands performance requirements
- Basic understanding of requirements management best practice and ensures these practices are used.
- Basic analysis skills
- Basic ability to facilitate meetings and other business needs
- Working knowledge in relevant software application.
RELATIONSHIPS: INTERNAL / EXTERNAL:
- Works with other levels of team members (Senior, Lead, and Manager) and development staff
- Development leads (e.g. Managers, Project Managers, Project Leaders, Technical Leads)
PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE, STRATEGIC PLANNING & DECISION MAKING:
- General understanding of the client's existing business processes, the key drivers and measures of success of the business
- Gains experience in information systems, business operations, and requirements analysis,
- Basic understanding of the overall Development or internal systems architecture in order to understand the issues & implications of proposed systems & hardware solutions.
- Requires some relevant technical or business work experience, ideally a background in business area supported.
- Gains experience in development life cycle and business process development

QUALIFICATIONS:
- MBA in finance, Bachelors/Master's degree in special accounting/taxation, business, or equivalent experience required. CA will be a plus.
