Job Description
The Squad Lead is a squad member and next to that a servant leader.
(S)he has following areas of responsibility:
oExpert in the Product domain of the Squad and contributing in the Sprints.
Depending on personal skills and experience, these contributions can be in the area of architecture, solution design, scrum process, tooling, estimating, vendor management, service operations or managing alignment with other squads and tribes.
oTeacher and role model for the Agile Operating Model.
Coaches people, triggers and contributes to continuous improvement.oTakes care of people on the human aspects as well as their professional development by coaching, providing feedback, mentoring, creating growth-opportunities and preventing people to stay too long in their comfort zone.
Facilitates resolution of issues between Squad Team members.oRepresentative of the squad or scrum-team in leadership meetings and escalations.oActor in business processes which for legal, privacy or fiscal reasons cannot be shared within the squad (e.g.travel approvals, expense claims, Purchase Order approval, People Management tasks in Workday (talent management, compensation cycle, job requisitions), documentation of medical cases for government, completion of mandatory trainings, compliance checks)
Leads by example in squad effectiveness, efficiency, continuous improvement and quality of work at daily stand-ups
Coordinate interaction with other Squads of own Tribe and other Tribes (e.g.
during Quarterly Tribe Review planning or other tribe Squads synchronization ceremonies)
Coach and inspire the team on delivering added value, trust, transparency, effective practices, contribution, attitude Make proposals on the Squads composition and headcount Ensure the need for specific capabilities are fulfilled through recruitment and development of people (incl.
hiring & retiring), in coordination with Tribe Lead who is responsible for recruiting; Stimulate knowledge sharing within and beyond the Squad, Tribe and our own organization
Responsible for cost-control within the squad Act as trusted partner for the Product Owner Take responsibility for supplier performance in close cooperation with IMS/Procurement for the key suppliers assigned to his/her Squad
