About the Role
- As a Lead Software Engineer, you ll take the wheel in overseeing the architecture and development of one of our Consumer Lending products.
- You ll get full control over the technical metrics of the products, working at the cutting edge of Fintech with areas of responsibility spanning risk, compliance, user experience, growth, and revenue.
- Your contributions will help shape the future of our Consumer Lending products, and more importantly, help millions of users meet their financial needs responsibly.
What You Will Do
- Own a full product or major feature in Consumer Lending, from start to maintenance, involving software and infrastructure architecture, database modelling, scope management with business and product stakeholders, prioritization of features and MVP scoping,
- sprint planning or other methodologies to execute development, testing strategy, production support plan, and managing external team dependencies
- Actively mentor software engineers in the team, balancing developer happiness with sharp business focus
- Write code thats clear, concise, performant, tested, and easy to understand by other teams and engineers
- Contribute to the design and development of highly scalable, available, reliable, secure, and fault-tolerant systems
- Improve engineering standards, tooling, and processes after understanding our needs without jumping straight into standard practices
- Facilitate and improve accuracy and reduce noise on observability of an application to make key metrics visible to business, product, and engineering teams
- Deep dive and debug production issues across services and levels of the stack when needed
- Coordinate and communicate with different internal/external teams daily partner with the product management to execute the feature roadmap efficiently
What You Will Need
- At least 6 years of relevant software development experience with consumer/merchant products; hands-on experience in designing, developing, testing, and deploying large scale applications
- Ability to learn or use Java, Kotlin, JS and deep level understanding, proficiency at least on one of them
- Understanding of concepts like HTTP/GRPC, idempotency, concurrency, database consistency and transactionality, asynchronous programming, fault tolerance and monitoring, performance, feature flags, and backward compatibility
- Deep understanding of a mobile application s interaction with back-end and other systems to debug complex issues and help improve performance and user experience
- Deep understanding of relational databases; ability to design performant, easy-to-understand architectures and know-how for applying changes with no downtime to production systems
- Experience using monitoring tools and good understanding of their concepts
- Understanding of infrastructure related tools and concepts such as Kubernetes, Kafka, RDS, AWS, GCP.
