The position
As an Area Sales Manager you will be responsible for defining sales budgets and ensuring adherence to set targets. Build long term strategic alliance with key accounts to continue to add value and promote service offerings to identify / create and fulfil commercial opportunities. You will work towards Novo Nordisk product/brand penetration in the markets that you are assigned with and ensure improvement month after month. Would also be responsible in establishing and developing a professional relationship with important stakeholders like KOLs and also build new KOLs to ensure continuous market growth.

You will be responsible for creating and implementing end to end account plans for key accounts, modifying medical science liaison composition, setting key performing indicators and monitoring achievement. You will be displaying service mindset, proposing solutions, delivering results and achieving sales targets across the product portfolio at targeted accounts. Anchoring strong knowledge across the products in Novo Nordisk portfolio. You would ensure the call plan execution, high level of consultative selling and customer service by the scientific medical representatives (as per the account plan). In collaboration with the marketing, medical team and regional sales team, deliver the desired results.

Develop and retain a high performing sales team, communicate business strategy clearly, do effective coaching and engage employees through personal connect 


Qualifications

You hold a Bachelors degree in Pharma / Science / from a reputed institution. Masters degree in Business Administration or equivalent will be an added advantage. You have minimum 10 years of pharma sales experience in good MNCs with at least 3 years in a managerial role. Exposure to Diabetes or other therapy areas like Oncology, Cardiology etc. is preferred.

You should have excellent communication, analytical and negotiation skills and should be very strong at stakeholder management.

Have a strong track record in thorough planning, execution and follow-up is required, with a creative and innovative attitude that will enable you to drive initiatives with operational excellence in mind. You should be open to relocation.


About the department
Novo Nordisk India affiliate office is in Bangalore & has more than 1,400 people working across the country in various functions. The Area Sales Manager is accountable for a specific Territory within India and reports to the Regional Sales Manager.
