Job Description
Job Title: Sr. SQL DBA
No. Of positions: 2 Two
Location: Work from Home Fulltime Permanent
DAILY CALL WITH US CLIENT BETWEEN 9:00 PM TO 11:30 PM IST. FLEXIBLE WORKING HOURS. OPEN TO WORK IN LATE EVENING STILL 1:00 AM.
Responsibilities: Primary responsibilities for this role would involve heavily around SQL Server Database Administration, but there is a need to support DB platforms such as Oracle, Cassandra, MongoDB, and MySQL. This role requires a service-oriented mentality, a high sense of ownership of the problems and requests assigned, focus on managing and resolving issues in alignment with the SLAs, establishing and maintaining communication with technology customers to keep them updated with the status of their requests, initiating and performing changes on production systems and proactively escalating any issues that cannot be resolved within the established timeframes.
- Owning, tracking, and resolving data platform related incidents and requests
- Fulfilling requests and resolving incidents within predefined SLAs
- Reviewing service related reports (e.g.: database backups, maintenance, monitoring) daily to ensure service issues are identified/resolved within established SLAs
- Responding to database-related alerts and escalations and working with database engineering to come up with strategic solutions to recurring problems.
Qualifications:
- 3+ years of solid experience in MS SQL Server 2008, 2012, and 2014 or higher Administration
- Knowledge of ORACLE, Cassandra, MySQL, MongoDB desirable
- Maintained large implementations of MS SQL, and experienced in integrating various application platforms with the data platform
- Expert knowledge of relational database design principles
- Willing to learn and be trained on Informatica and/or Tableau configuration and administration
- Expertise in troubleshooting and resolving database problems
- Expertise in Performance Tuning and Optimization (PTO), using native monitoring and troubleshooting tools.
- Expert knowledge of SSIS, SSRS, backups, restores, and recovery models
- Implemented High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) solutions for MSSQL Server environments.
- Experience in implementing operational automation using scripts
- Expert knowledge of indexes, index management, and statistics
- Experience working with Windows server, including Active Directory and proper disk configurations.
- Good communication and documentation skills
- Knowledge of Data warehousing, ETL, and Business Intelligence concepts
