Principal PM Manager - Hyderabad @ Microsoft

Responsibilities

The Microsoft Digital Platform Engineering (MDPE) team is at the center of all capabilities being developed to solve internal problems of Microsoft leveraging SAP on Azure including extending these capabilities to external customers for similar problems that they are looking to solve. This team therefore needs direction and end to end thinking of building capabilities. The MDPE Principal PM Manager for Data and Analytics is going to be responsible for the following:

• Formulating a vision, value proposition and roadmap for improvements and enhancements to SAP Data and Analytics Platform.
• Guiding design and direction of the SAP Data and Analytics Platform components, helping design for scalability and global reach.
• Driving customer-focused engineering by planning and designing improvements based upon business and customer feedback.
• Define, drive, prioritize, and specify functional scenarios for management platform features.
• Provide thought leadership to the development team building key functionality, working with customers to get feedback, and iterating to improve outcomes.
• Manage multiple projects, prioritizing, planning, and executing deliverables.
• Partner across the business and engineering teams to develop capabilities that drive success for the broader SAP on Azure capabilities
• Market/Customer understanding: Develop critical and clear understanding of the requirements of the Market, of the requirements of customers, distill that and use it to develop the roadmap, and lead the team.
• People Management: Lead a small team of program/product managers who will form part of this team. Develop the capabilities of the team, and delegate responsibilities as appropriate. Enable the Individual Contributors to be successful by coaching/mentoring them.
• Meeting Business Goals: Meet agreed upon business goals (customer adoption), in conjunction with the engineering teams.
• Enabling Business capabilities in SAP Data and Analytics Platform as prioritized across Finance, HR, Supply Chain, Order to Cash, Operations Line of Businesses.
• Own and evangelize feature roadmaps to land a reference implementation of SAP data integration across multiple business processes.
• Partner with Azure Supply Chain, SAP platform, Devices Supply Chain and Cloud Supply Chain teams to deliver co-engineering initiatives.
• Support the development and evangelization of Azure/SAP data integration best practices.
• Democratize knowledge by writing whitepapers, blogs and contributing to technical documentation e.g., using SAP data for machine learning on the Azure platform.
• Lead sprint teams (i.e., consisting of SWEs and SREs) across the organization to deliver on the identified priorities.
• End-to-end data integration ownership of scope/priorities, schedule, budget, risks and issue management for Microsoft s SAP instance
• Be the data integration on SAP subject matter expert for the organization.
• Demonstrate customer obsession and demonstrate the use of data to identify the top pain points and opportunities for driving impact.

Other areas of key focus on the team include:

• Collaborate with business and technical teams to gather MDPE Data And Analytics Platform requirements to develop solutions. Must have a strong focus on the end-to-end customer experience.
• Be data-driven and keep customer as the most important dimension while planning new capabilities.
• Leverage Microsoft, SAP technologies to build world class, innovative solutions.
• Develop standards for MDPE Data and Analytics Platform to make it an enterprise class mature platform.
• Work with partner teams for capacity planning, defining service requirements, and designing end-to-end platform capabilities and features.
• Create solutions with GTM in mind which caters to Microsoft requirements and is also useful for other customers.
• People Management: Lead a small team of program/product managers who will form part of this team. Develop the capabilities of the team, and delegate responsibilities as appropriate. Enable the Individual Contributors to be successful by coaching/mentoring them.
• Meeting Business Goals: Meet agreed upon business goals (customer adoption), in conjunction with the engineering and field teams.

• 15+ years combined experience: Program Management, Product Management, Data Science, Operations Research, Software Development, technical/engineering role(s).
• 10+ years of experience in SAP systems Planning, design, development, testing and implementation experience on large scale projects for enterprise businesses.
• 5+ years of hands-on SAP ERP Implementation experience on large scale projects for data service, leveraging technology such as SLT, BW, BW4Hana, as well as big data technology and A.I.
• Business and functional knowledge in SAP SD/MM (Sales and Distribution, Materials management), IBP Modules etc.
• Understanding of computer science fundamentals and statistical concepts
• Proven success and experience in collaborating across engineering, business, data science, and operational teams, up to and including working with Partner/GM level stakeholders.
• 5+ years demonstrated proficiency in executive level presentations and communications
• Proven experience to quickly learn existing concepts and employ new techniques.
• Ability to accommodate up to 10% travel
• Good understanding of enterprise grade applications in terms of resilience, scale
• Excellent communication skills and experience in collaborating in a multi-disciplinary environment.
• Deep understanding and history developing distributed and/or cloud-based systems.
• Proven track record in the development and delivery of effective technical strategies and multi-year roadmaps
• BS or MS in Computer Science or related field required; MBA is highly desired.

Preferred Requirements (Nice to have)

• Professional Training and Certification: PMP, SAP.
• 10 Years of experience as an DAta Product Manager/ Solution architect or SME with strong understanding of business processes.
• Experience in working on large scale global enterprise implementations with hands on experience in customization/configuration of SAP solutions.
