POSITION TITLE: Configuration and Deployment Engineer

SUMMARY OF POSITION AND OBJECTIVES:

Eurofins is currently initiating DevOps and accelerating the deployment of standard processes across its Laboratories. A key aspect is related to its Information Systems in Clinical Diagnostics business line.

The main objective of this position is to support the IT Solutions Team and the "Application, Environment, Release and Operation" in particular for the lifecycle of application solutions.

POSITION OBJECTIVES :

The candidate will be

• Part of the Release Deployment team and be involved mainly, in the environments, configuration, build, packaging, operating procedures and release process management in the realm of the application solutions portfolio.

• Be the operation partner of application Development team and provide operation related services.

• Involved in application operation projects.

• Involved in projects of transition to operation teams.

• Joining an IT team in Bangalore and always in contact with teams in the other locations (as One Team in US and India)

• Involve in Release Deployment and Configuration evolution, and more generally DevOps adaptation.

The Candidate is expected to:

• Contribute specifically on the following technical activities upon priorities defined by Team Manager:

• Closely work Eurofins Operations teams, be involved in projects and communication with Team Manager.

• Contribute the maintenance of System and Architectural documentation in the scope of Release team

• Act as part of L3 support team

• Provide some periodical and/or emergency support (i.e. on-call service).

• Provide operation related supports as Operation Partner to Application Scrum Teams .

• high quality practices and processes in order to guarantee excellent state and smooth transitions for programs in all environments (development to production).

• high quality engineering and guidelines of the target solutions,

• Agile practices and well-known modelling practices such as UML

Specific assignments:

• Maintain up to date the Components library and topology describing each platform (development/ testing, QA/UAT, production etc.)

• Handle platform deployment and configuration automation.

• Support Release Deployment on high environments (Qualification, Training and Production)

• Work on configuration and procedures for the various steps of the platform lifecycle (provisioning, prerequisites, deployment/upgrade, monitoring and support).

• Collaborate closely with Functional, Development and Testing team to ensure our platforms are suiting the needs, are monitored and benefit from permanent improvements following the release and configuration management process.

• Ensure the required tasks and support will be aligned with Operation Guideline and Best practices.

• Create and maintain level 3 technical and operational documentation that describes the situation and ensure that documentation of processes is aligned.

• Provide L3 support for deployment and configuration related issues. Ensure superior quality

OTHER ASSIGNMENTS:

• Ensure follow-up to Site Manager and Team Manager on a regular basis and as often as requested.

• Acquire rapidly a working knowledge of Eurofins systems, underlying concepts and models, as well as the processes and practices of the team.

• Deepen that knowledge on a continuous basis, guided by the most pressing needs of assigned functions.

• Develop appropriate working relationships with IT and non-IT target groups in Eurofins. Actively support reuse and sharing within the wider application community.

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

REQUIRED PROFILE:

Personal Skills :

• Very good communication and interpersonal relation skills in an international environment.

• Accurate in technical activities: cannot bear unaligned things if they are supposed to be similar, will take the time to review/reread its email. Do not forget punctuation when writing. Has clear structure in mind (for instance meaningful and structured titles and subtitles when writing a document etc.)

• Good Team player.

• Willing to learn new technologies, processes and functional areas.

• Open minded on the subject.

experience:

Ideally some experiences as Software Configuration position, IT Operation position or in Software Development in an international environment.

Technical knowledge:

• 3+ Years hands on Experience of Microsoft Azure DevOps is mandatory.

• Hands on experience of at least 1 scripting language preferably PowerShell

• Hands on experience with SQL Server

• Good amount of knowledge/experience of Configuration Management Database, System architecture, platform blueprints, software configuration, Operations activities (procurement, installation, monitoring and support etc.) is a plus.

• Knowledge/Experience of UML is a plus.

• Knowledge /Experience of .Net Core, Angular, WebAPIs is a plus

• Knowledge /Experience with Visual Studio environment is a plus

• Knowledge /Experience of SQL or even T-SQL is a plus

• Knowledge /Experience of SOA and/or messaging middleware is a plus

• Computing Science: Master s degree preferred else good Bachelor s degree.
