Engineer II - Software - Chennai - Microchip @ Microchip Technology

Firmware Engineer shall be a member of the Firmware team in Microchip s Computing Products Group responsible for: Develop embedded firmware, Application Utilities for computing products like Tablets, Mobiles, Desktop PCs and Industrial PCs.Complete product development life cycle from requirements analysis, design, development, unit testing, Hardware integration testing, system integration and trouble-shooting.Work with multi-site cross-functional teams.

• 3 - 5 years experience in software development for embedded systems, microprocessors, and microcontrollers.
• Very strong C/C++ programming and debugging skills in an embedded environment
• Seasoned using embedded debugging tools such as Oscilloscope , debuggers and protocol analyzers
• Experience in design, development, deployment and testing of embedded software products
• Experience in Verification and validation of embedded software products
• Familiarity with cross-platform development and debugging tools
• Familiarity with command line build tools
• Knowledge/experience in I2C, SPI or other networking real-time content streaming protocols
• Very good team player and good at communication within and outside of the organization
• Knowledge/experience in MPLAB IDE and tool chains
• Experience in writing scripts in python is an added advantage
• Experience in MIPS Architecture is a plus
• Experience with RTOS Linux is an added advantage.
• Candidate with education from reputed institute with good academic records is preferred.
• Experience in Security, Azure platform and IOT platform is preferable.
• Experience in Chromium EC firmware / Zephyr Project experience is preferrable.
• Experience on OCP based Server secure Boot Controller and knowledge on Universal Backplane Management (UBM) would be an added advantage.
