Job Description
General Purpose:
Project Manager will be responsible for planning and managing the Product development projects using Agile Scrum Methodology. PM will also play the role of a Scrum Master in ensuring scrum is understood and enacted.
PM will be closely working with the Development team, Product management group, the Architecture team, and the QA team to ensure on-time delivery of superior quality products as per roadmap and plan.
Person will share regular status with management, update the plan for critical changes, highlight any risks and mitigation plan after discussion with respective Product Manager and Leads.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Define project scope based on product Manager inputs and work with lead for developing project plan.
- Organize and lead project status; prepare and distribute progress reports; manage risks and issues; correct deviations from plans.
- Assist both Product and Engineering teams through the various phases of the Agile development cycle.
- Execute on Scrum Master responsibilities, including organizing and facilitating daily stand-up meetings, retrospectives, sprint and release planning, demos and other Scrum- related meetings
- Coordinate and organize Planning, Design & Retrospective meetings with the teams during the Agile development cycle.
- Enforce the Agile process workflow and hold individual team members accountable for their responsibilities and commitments.
- Foster teamwork and communication between teams as well as help bubble up potential issues and slippage.
- Establish strong working relationships with partner teams across the organization to identify dependencies and align priorities and deliverables.
- Assess roadblocks and problem situations to identify root causes and work with stakeholders to come up with a resolution or recommendation.
- Facilitate discussion and conflict resolution between as well as within teams.
- Define and manage a well-defined project management process and champion ongoing process improvement initiatives to implement best practices for Agile Project Management
- Report on the progress of the Agile sprints as well as overall reporting meaningful to stakeholders.
- Report up Status and Risks - create and measure teams according to metrics established by the team.
- Anticipate challenges, identify risks, and recommend mitigations and solutions. Own and drive those solutions.
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelors Degree or equivalent having 10+ years experience with minimum 5+ years of experience in Project Management.
- Experience in managing Software Development using Agile or Iterative life-cycle methodology. Should have played role of a Scrum master.
- Solid understanding of Software Development Life Cycle models and practices
- Strong planning, and organizational skills with an ability to manage competing demands.
- Proven ability to lead software development projects and ensure objectives, goals, and commitments are met.
- Good and hands-on experience using Project management tools.
- Agile Project Management tools such as Jira, Confluence
- Microsoft Project and all Office Tools
- Ability to take initiative and apply critical thinking techniques to analyze problems, develop solutions or manage risk.
- Excellent communication, facilitation and presentation skills and experience interacting with both business and IT individuals at all levels including the executive level.
Preferred Qualifications
- Sufficient level of technical background to provide highly credible leadership to engineering teams.
- PMP, Certified Scrum Master or Agile certification a plus
