Cerner is elated to hire a Senior Team Lead, Software Engineering. As a Senior Team Lead, Software Engineering, you will lead, support and grow a development project team and take responsibility for overall team performance and results. In this role, you will, direct the project team in estimation, analyzing, designing, coding, debugging, testing and modifying software enhancements and/or new software.

As a Senior Team Lead, Software Engineering, you will provide high-level architecture guidance and create strategic technical designs for projects of small scope within given solution area. Your responsibilities also include, managing escalation and issue resolution for internal or external clients and stakeholders and to provide input to project resourcing plans. You will advocate for an efficient development environment, set expectations and drive continuous improvement and high-quality code. As a Senior Team Lead, Software Engineering, you will consult with stakeholders on current functionality and complexity of adding new features to develop software specifications along with translating business problems into functional work estimates at the component level for current and future projects.

As a Senior Team Lead, Software Engineering, you will mentor associates across the organization and plan, delegate and direct the team s day-to-day work to achieve operational targets or objectives with contribution to the immediate results for the team or department. This role also requires you to, communicate policies, practices and procedures within immediate area of responsibility to stakeholders within the department and identify and lead team-level quality and process improvement initiatives. You will also, deliver consistent and timely training, guidance and feedback to encourage associate success. Additionally, you will provide input on staffing and performance decisions for direct reports and supervise a team of associates.
As a peoples Manager you will seek to understand disagreements, ensure all perspectives are heard and facilitate a plan for resolution. You will delegate the work appropriately, provide clear expectations and follow up to ensure progress and overcome roadblocks.

In this role you will identify associates and team priorities based on business direction and adjust when needed. You will lead by example and share knowledge and experiences with associates and team. You will also, create a respectful work environment where you advocate for your team, create accountability and recognize their accomplishments while you provide timely feedback to encourage success, ensure accountability, and connect opportunities for your associates development. Additionally, you will Identify the right talent to achieve the desired results, promote and build a diverse cohesive team to accomplish objectives and align associates skills to fill gaps.

Qualifications

Basic Qualification:

  • 6 years of total combined higher education and related work experience, including:
  • 1 year of Software engineering work experience
  • 1 year of people management, matrix management, project management or other indirect leadership work experience
  • 5 years of higher education and/or additional work experience directly related to the duties of the job, including:
      • Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering or equivalent relevant experience
Preferred Qualification:
  • At least 9 years of experience in Java J2EE,Agile methodologies
  • At least 7 years of experience in OAuth, OpenID, SAML frameworks, REST APIs, Service Oriented Architecture and Microservice development
  • At least 6 years experience in AWS, containerization - Kubernetes, OpenStack, Dockers, Jenkins/GIT or other Continuous Integration/version control tools
Expectation:
  • Willing to work in Kolkata
