Job Description Summary
As Senior Manager, Measurements & Tolerances, you will be responsible for leading a global team of measurement and instrumentation engineers, reporting directly to the Director, CV&EHS. You will be responsible to develop a strategy for ensuring LM Wind Power has the best in class measurement and inspection techniques to satisfy both internal (NTI/NPI) and external customer requirements. In this role, you will convey the voice of operations and quality to the engineering functions, challenging the product and technology teams to balance design criteria and tolerances with factory capabilities and cost.Job Description
Roles and Responsibilities

  • You will be part of the CV&EHS senior leadership team and will be expected to contribute to the key priorities of the team, supporting the translation of NTIs into new products and processes that improve the performance of LM blades and factories.
    Key responsibilities include:
  • Drive the selection and implementation of strategic technologies and methods to support internal and external customer requirements for Geometric, Subcomponent and Blade Property verification efforts. Ensure that these methods are fully supported from initial testing through to factory roll-out.
  • Define a global strategy for LM Wind Powers factory-based measurements programs, ensuring rigorous business case development, testing and studies.
  • Foster close and effective working relationships within LM Quality, Engineering, Operations, & Commercial teams and provide support to key customer interactions to ensure that the methods/instrumentation available to LM factories meet customer needs.
  • Create a data stream of critical information that generates opportunities for Lean/Six-Sigma based CI programs to improve LM manufacturing and design methods.
  • Drive stackup analysis and have experience in Monte Carlo simulation or similar of components to ensure holistic approach to tolerances defined.
  • Develop a global team of technical experts, providing technical direction and mentoring for engineers related to Instrumentation, Measurement Technology, and Tolerancing.
  • Create a proactive and collaborative team environment where excellent ideas that meet customer needs and are based upon sound business principles are encouraged.
  • Deliver products at expected cost, performance, and budget to meet requested LCoE target, business value, and LM's revenue target.
  • Provide the customer facing Measurements and Tolerances expertise and representation as required.

Required Qualifications
  • Master's or PhD in Mechanical engineering, Aerospace, or similar
  • Advanced technical knowledge of wind turbine design and rotor Impacting performance (AEP, loads, turbine, noise, stability)
  • Proven track record of measurement and instrumentation system development and implementation in multiple spheres/sectors
  • Solid business acumen, including confidence in customer interactions and negotiations
  • Minimum 10 years of wind turbine sector expertise and wind sector exposure
  • Trained Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt
