Job Description Summary
The Commercial Operations Director, APAC is responsible for proposal generation, ITO risk mitigation and efficient functioning of all commercial operations processes throughout the Asia region for Aero Services commercial operations team.
The Commercial Operations Director will manage the R-Process, Policy 5.0 compliance, proposal quoting and generation, contract negotiation including Master Agreements and new MMPs, and R3 turnover processes for all Transactional Services offerings in the assigned Pole/subregion. These include New Unit CSAs, CSA Renegotiations, MMPs, Upgrades, Parts, Shop Repairs, Rotables, Engines, Flow, EtcJob Description
Roles and Responsibilities
  • Responsible for effectively leading a team of commercial operations managers that supports the Aero Services Business Line in the APAC region.
  • Responsible for supporting the pole/sub-regions to meet their financial orders, sales, cash, and margin targets.
  • Responsible for running an efficient, consistent and compliant Policy 5.0 Risk Management process starting from deal screening (R0), resource allocation (R1), deal reviews (R2), and contract hand over (R3). This includes deal reviews with senior leadership where needed and exercising the assigned delegation of authority (DOA).
  • Responsible for ensuring the development of on time, high quality commercial proposals, that provide technical and commercial solutions that meet both customer and GE's requirements and business goals, working in partnership with sales team and stakeholders/subject matter experts from operations, pricing, supply chain, engineering, legal and other functional support teams.
  • Responsible for leading contract negotiations of unique customer Ts&Cs / Master Agreements as well as MMPs. Responsible for identifying and articulating deviations-to-standard as described in the Risk Checklist and mitigating those risks as necessary to achieve the best commercial deal.
  • Responsible for providing leadership during the deal life cycle including supporting complex negotiations with customers.
  • Responsible for optimizing proposal throughput across the Team including leveraging Ready to Use (RTU) proposals where appropriate.
  • Responsible for ensuring consistent adoption and usage of digital tools such as NEX, OCPQ, RealTrack, Tableau, Siesmic etc.
  • Responsible for coordinating advance releases, material & resource validation to meet schedule and delivery requirements during bidding phase.
  • Responsible for verifying that customer purchase orders & contracts are compliant with GE ITO proposals, and obtaining amendments/approvals for any exceptions, and for ensuring that complete and accurate documentation associated with all bids, such as proposal, white paper/FINSUM, cost margin reports, approval documents, performance guarantees basis, etc. are maintained securely.
  • Responsible for ensuring effective hand over of contracts to OTR Fulfillment/Operations Team.
  • Responsible for signing ITO documents including proposals, order acknowledgements, contracts, amendments, master agreements, etc. and exercising the current signature authority for the appropriate legal entity.
  • Responsible for maintaining KPI's for ITO process such as R1 responsiveness, on-time-delivery of quality proposals, high-throughput, Policy 5.0 compliance and implementing countermeasures as needed.
  • Responsible for minimizing cost-of-quality issues arising from inaccurate scope definition and costing during the ITO process and inadequate handovers during the ITO-OTR handover and advance release process.
  • Responsible for implementing LEAN principles of Standard Work, Problem Solving & Continuous Improvement to achieve best in class commercial performance.
  • Providing coaching, mentoring and appropriate training & development opportunities for Team members.

Required Qualifications
  • Minimum 5 yrs of experience in GE Gas Power Sales and or Commercial Operations,.
  • Minimum 10 yrs of experience within the Energy industry
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Business from an accredited university or college
