This role is responsible for the delivery of settlement related product enhancements and targeted tactical and strategic solutions to meet the extensive needs of the clients and prospects for the Global Custody business. Our aim is to position J.P. Morgan as best in class with clients and prospects. The Product Development Team also maintains and expands subject matter expertise, providing thought leadership in the Global Custody product space.
The Custody Product Development Team is multi-locational (London, Bournemouth, New York, Dallas, Hong Kong, Mumbai, Bangalore) and is organized into functional groups each with a distinct and vital role in managing and delivering change for clients and the Custody Product Roadmap:
- Positions & Settlements
- Asset Servicing
- Cash, Liquidity & Foreign Exchange,
- Client Reporting
This position, within the Product Development team, will be based in Mumbai-India, is aligned to Custody Positions and Settlements with focus on advancing our strategic platform agenda in order to help close product gaps and rapidly adapt to business and regulatory change. The successful candidate will have responsibilities including developing the product based on business strategy and understanding current and new regulatory, client and internal drivers. This role requires effective partnership across Securities Services including - Product Management, Technology, Operations, Risk Management, Compliance as well as cross functional Product teams.
Key Responsibilities:
This position, within the Product Development team, will be located in Mumbai. The successful candidate will be responsible for implementing product solutions, technology and/or client change aligned to the strategic roadmap for the Custody business.
Key responsibilities for this role include:
- Partner with our Product partners in Securities Services and senior members of Product Development to design and deliver key elements of the strategic P&S platform
- Interact with internal stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver a strategic P&S product offering.
- Partner with Operations to identify and remediate existing manual workflows
- Work with the technology team in the development of the strategic P&S infrastructure
- Coordinate the user testing and rollout of new P&S products, managing feedback and implementing additional enhancements based on priorities
- Manage effective working group meetings across Product, Operations and Technology to deliver on key services and tools
- Partner with Sales & Marketing/Client Service to develop, brand and communicate new products to our external clients
- Participate in and contribute to the broader Securities Services Custody Product Development team wide forums
- Identify opportunities for improvement, presenting them to senior management and helping to affect change
Required skills and background
The successful candidate will preferably have worked in a securities services or Positions & Settlements or global custody environment with the following skills:
- Results orientated: Drive results through people, communication, influence management and interactions.
- Confident communicator in all mediums across varied audiences combined with the ability to interact with senior executives
- Strong presentation skills and Analytical/Quantitative skills
- Ability to multi-task, effectively prioritize workloads, and manage multiple streams of work concurrently
- Team player, self-motivated who is able to move initiatives forward in a cross-functional, multi-location model
- Good listener and problem solver with ability to think outside of the box
