About the role
Become a member of our global Creative team and help drive high-quality design and creative innovation across our global organisation. In your role as a Graphic Designer in our Corporate Affairs team, you'll be responsible for applying the Macquarie Group brand across a broad range of collateral, including digital assets and presentations. Using your strong sense of design aesthetic and knowledge of current creative trends, you'll help translate business needs into creative assets, engaging with internal clients to understand their requirements and advising on appropriate cost-effective solutions. With an eye for detail, you'll ensure all design requests are produced in a timely manner and to a high standard in accordance with corporate brand standards. You'll effectively create layouts with strong typography and colour, images and fonts, with readability and accessibility front of mind. You'll be trusted with autonomy to plan and organise your own work while communicating effectively with your stakeholders to keep them up to date of status and deliverables.
To thrive in this role, you'll ideally have 5 years of experience as a Graphic Designer and can demonstrate solid design and desktop publishing experience in a corporate environment. You'll be a proficient user of the Adobe Creative Cloud (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Acrobat) and intermediate user of the Microsoft Office (in particular PowerPoint and Word) and bring knowledge of Exact Target and Cvent. You'll also possess knowledge of multimedia software and HTML. You'll be positive and collaborative, and welcome the opportunity to work in a team that supports each other across projects and time zones.
Key responsibilities will include:
  • Ensure all design requests are produced in a timely manner and to a high standard in accordance with corporate brand guidelines and templates
  • Work with clients to understand their requirements and provide the most appropriate solution in line with the brief
  • Effectively create layouts with strong typography and colour, images and fonts, allowing for readability and accessibility
  • Proficient and remains up-to-date with InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Acrobat, Dreamweaver, PowerPoint, Word, Excel
  • Maintain design skills and a broad knowledge of current design and production techniques
  • Enjoys working in a team environment, learning on the job and sharing design inspiration
  • Quality management - all work should be checked prior to going back to the client
  • Can ask the right questions to ensure design solution meets the client's business needs
  • Utilises Jira to ensure all time is logged, and project instructions and client interactions are fully documented
  • Plans and organizes own work and keeps others informed of status and activities
  • Provide support to the Global team when required
  • Excellent team working, communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate, and persuade client to make the right design / deliverable choices.

About you
  • Solid design and desktop publishing experience in a corporate environment
  • A track record of delivery - under pressure and under tight deadlines
  • Sound working understanding of corporate sign off processes and managing stakeholder engagement on projects
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and meet deadlines
  • Strong written communication skills and attention to detail
  • Sound process and problem solving skills
  • Able to communicate, interact and maintain excellent relationships at all levels across the business
  • Proficient in the use of the following software: Adobe Creative Cloud (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Acrobat), Intermediate use of the Microsoft Office Suite (in particular PowerPoint and Word) and knowledge of Exact Target, cvent.
  • Knowledge of Multimedia software and HTML
