Why is this role important:
A Director of Product Management would need to have proven their mantel and worked their way through the ranks in the Product practice. You will be responsible to Mentor and Coach Product Managers and Analysts and help them in engaging with onsite and offshore stakeholders, Delivery managers, Analysts and Engineers to help identify, research, refine, scope, prioritize and build features that align with the vision and strategy of Tavisca. Examples include: driving discovery sprints establishing the MVP mindset and approach checking that backlogs are being prioritized using value-focused KPIs as criteria, ensuring that teams have clarity on WHY a feature has been prioritized, working with designers to build memorable experiences, using metrics and data to drive decisions, helping build & communicate the roadmap to various stakeholders, designing customer feedback mechanisms, etc.
Given below is proven experience and capability that will qualify a person for the Director designation
1. Experience in building strategic partnerships across the platform ecosystem (Content providers, Suppliers, Clients etc ), based on the research and competitive analysis conducted by them and others in the product function.
2. Key Contributor in Merger and Acquisition related activities like Organization redesign, cultural change, execution synergies across BUs etc.
3. Proven ability of driving and managing organizational programs that lead to significant ($ 5m + ) revenue / operational improvement. [Executive presence, Handle stress, participated in CXO/Board presentations, comfortable with large scale program implementations ]
4. Able to create and drive symbiotic relationships between various disciplines e.g. Engineering, Delivery, Product, UX and Data, in order to translate the product needs into requirements and to drive consensus within the product departments. They should be able to facilitate clear and efficient product road mapping, product planning, prioritization, and an overall agile product development process.
5. Acknowledged as a respected leader, mentor in the product fraternity. Responsible for overall Product Practice management within the areas, in which they ensure that all product functions (PA to Sr.PM ) are efficiently and effectively executed.
6. Ability to drive product planning and execution in a manner that company's overall strategy and goals are supported by those of the product. Should have hands on experience in gathering and prioritizing requirements for the product, defining the vision for the product, and collaborating with other directors from the engineering, marketing, sales, and operations departments in order to ensure that the financial and consumer satisfaction goals are met.
7. Should have enough experience in evaluating ideas and product proposals that can become initiatives based on the business case metrics like ROI, Operational efficiency, risk profile and other outcomes that would be achieved by implementation.
8. Effective at creating awareness of the Product Vision, strategy and roadmap across the division in order to gain complete buy-in and focus towards achieving the product goals
9. As a product evangelist responsible for representing the business and promoting the product by advocating for its value and benefits at executive briefings, marketing events, online consumer platforms, and so forth.
Relevant experience:
. Education: Bachelor master's degree
. Proficient in English language
. 17+ years of experience working with Agile (preferably product) teams as a Product Manager or equivalent
. Demonstrating strong knowledge of and background with Agile & Product Management concepts - like Dual-track agile, MVP, A/B Testing, Story Map, Service Design, Prioritization Techniques, Road-mapping, Platform thinking, Product-mode over Project-mode, etc.
. Experience collaborating closely with product, engineering, client and UX teams
. Experience in managing large teams across multiple initiatives
Preferred qualifications:
. Having some background or coursework in Computer Science
. Relevant experience in a product organization
. Relevant experience in travel domain or customer loyalty space
. Relevant experience in data-backed decision making/statistics/market research
