Job Description
Leads customer engagement to ensure that it meets all scope, time, budget and quality expectations, through planning, controlling and managing customer projects. Manages corporate, customer and third party vendor efforts to plan, sell and implement solutions to customer problems. Responsible for business as well as team management.
We need someone with Data Center experience and also experience in Operations and maintenance at Data Center.
Job Description:
The role of the Technical Project Manager - DCF is to provide engineering services on the data center facility projects. The services provided should comprise the management of the electrical, mechanical, public health, civil, fire & control systems design, commissioning, implementation as well as operation for data center critical system projects. The Technical Project Manager should have vast experience with the data center construction projects including the knowledge of the construction process in India. He should be familiar with all data center building services. The Technical Project Manager will be expected to be able to run a mid- & large projects on his own in India.
Education and Experience:
10+ years of professional experience 6+ years of experience in the Data Center Facilities Services business BE, BSC or equivalent degree in mechanical or electrical engineering or related area of study CDCP, CDCS Uptime Institute Accredited Tier Designer certificate desirable PMP , Project Management experience
Responsibilities:
- Providing project management of the data center construction including M&E, public health, fire and control system design, installation and commissioning works.
- Overseeing the civil, structural and architectural works on the building side.
- Maintaining regular design reviews and checks with design & delivery team
- Project cost management
- Monitoring and controlling project progress, ensuring projects are undertaken in accordance with project plans and completion deadlines are met
- Performing Quality Control and Quality Assurance functions on the final design package to limit errors and omissions liability issues, assuring the Scope of Work has been delivered as commissioned, and all client documents are ready for review and approval by the Engineer of Record
- Maintaining excellent client relationships and contacts to achieve high levels of satisfaction and repeat business. Managing client's expectations
- Establishing procurement and packages strategy early
- Defining number of packages required and develop SOW early
- 3P suppliers to sign off and accept SOW document - facilitates easier approvals
- Focus on major packages first
- Back to back terms and conditions, payment terms
- Develop project schedule and plan to access project risks and resources required
- Check on cost for travel, accommodation and meals to be included
- Detailed risk log and mitigation plan - help reduce risk %
