The roles in the Software Engineering job function will cover all primary development activity across all technology functions that ensure we deliver code with high quality for our applications, products and services and to understand customer needs. These roles include, but are not limited to analysis, design, coding, engineering, testing, debugging, standards, methods, tools analysis, documentation, research and development, maintenance, new development, operations and delivery.

Project Overview:
CDSM Value Proposition - Capture the most comprehensive clinical picture of UHC Members to Enable clinical decisions at point of care, Reduce total cost of care, Improve clinical intervention and quality of care that leads to better health outcomes by advancing data liquidity and timely bi-directional sharing of clinical health data
CDSM Offerings
DXP - focuses on clinical data acquisition, ingestion, validation, pre-processing and operational tracking of supplemental data from providers, labs, EMRs and other submitters for Value-based initiatives. It also supports Submitter Management and HEDIS Audit tracking.
IRIS - data platform that focuses on aggregating, transforming, enriching and distributing clinical data with extensible FHIR repository and comprehensive REST APIs for various downstream applications to extract value from clinical data
EISL (EMR Integration Services Layer (Platform)) - supports vast number of bi- directional data exchange business use cases. It is a collection of UHG services and products orchestrated in a manner that abstracts and simplifies the variability of EHR integration. EISL leverages industry data standards such as HL7 as well as open API standards such as FHIR. It supports more than just pure EHR integration. It integrates other clinical data sources like HIEs, Hospital, 3rd Party Vendors.
Reporting - provides multiple market facing and internal dashboards that provide E2E visibility of file processing statuses along with member detail reports and gap closure reports that provides actionable insights to our internal and external user, to know the status, quantity and quality of the submissions.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Manage software engineering teams of 30 to 50
- Build Solutions for given business problem by understanding various enterprise tools and technologies
- Review code and design on various aspects like extensibility, scalability, security, design patterns etc., and ensure that all relevant best practices are followed
- Collaborate with stakeholders, business, Partner Solution Architects, and Technical Architects to ensure that the Solution is accurate to deliver outcomes to the client and reliable from a technology perspective
- Lead others toward technical accomplishment, collaborative project team efforts and achievement of important project goals
- Independent communication with business partners to resolve design issues and negotiate project related items such as priorities and completion deadlines
- Enhance existing products as well as create new offerings utilizing the latest technology
- Build and lead a product development team to deliver projects that meet business objectives and solve critical user problems
- Collaborate closely with key leaders to develop strategic projects, plans and processes, streamline decision-making, and develop and manage an engineering team
- Act as a technical leader in internal/external teams including managing code reviews, post project analysis and clearly articulating throughout the duration of projects what is important to the project's success and focuses on the critical few and priorities to improve
- Provide leadership for planning, recruiting and managing part of a world class technology, product development and application engineering team delivering a world class enterprise solutions portfolio and offering enabling services
- Drive results through proactively collaborating across organizational boundaries, and ensures end- to-end execution that most effectively delivers for the right stakeholders
- Comply with the terms and conditions of the employment contract, company policies and procedures, and any and all directives (such as, but not limited to, transfer and/or re-assignment to different work locations, change in teams and/or work shifts, policies in regards to flexibility of work benefits and/or work environment, alternative work arrangements, and other decisions that may arise due to the changing business environment). Required Qualifications:
- Experience leading multidisciplinary (Software Development/QA) development teams
- Experience delivering technology products / services in a high growth environment
- Significant hands-on experience architecting and developing fine-grained services using modern Java EE frameworks (Spring Boot / Spring Cloud / micro services / Streaming)
- Significant hands-on experience architecting and developing fine-grained services using BigData technologies (Spark / Hive / NO SQL / Streaming)
- Demonstrated experience as a strong technical leader who can prioritize, communicate clearly and influence across cross functional teams
- Proven experience in developing 12-factor applications and cloud architecture experience
- Strong architectural understanding of large scale heavily distributed and highly available applications, containers, Microservices
- Active adherence to engineering best practices including unit testing, test-driven development (TDD), continuous Integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD), pair programming, automated testing, and code reviews
- Good understanding of web technologies including HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript and modern front-end frameworks such Angular, ReactJS
- Understand and communicate new product and solution requirements back to the solution development and management team
- Proficiency in one or more relational and non-relational DB technologies such as MS SQL, PostgreSQL & MongoDB
- High attention to detail and proven ability to manage multiple, competing priorities simultaneously
- Proven track record of taking ownership and driving results
- Strong analytical, problem solving and decision-making skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in a global team with a positive team spirit
Preferred Qualifications:
- Healthcare domain experience
- Experience in defining and implementing Hybrid scenarios with workloads shared across on premise and public cloud using zero trust approach
- Experience with Container Orchestration Tools like Kubernetes, OpenShift and enabling logging/monitoring solutions for these tools.
- Performance tuning of Hybrid cloud applications for best performance
- Exposer to ETL tools and technologies
- Experience with public cloud environment like AWS or AZURE or GCP
