Job Description
POSITION PURPOSE:
As a Business Technology Manager, the candidate is expected to have a 80:20 split between managing the existing applications and working on new initiatives.
YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Business As Usual (BAU) (80% of Key Responsibility Area)
The candidate is expected to manage one or more applications that are already being used by the business stakeholders. Management of these applications involves managing the change lifecycle i.e.:
- Liaise/coordinate with business stakeholders to understand new requirements.
- Collaborate with technical teams to assess complexity, and dependencies.
- Estimate timelines for implementation and obtain necessary approvals.
- Track the progress of the project and send regular updates to stakeholders including any risks and issues.
- Coordinate with the business stakeholders to document and execute user acceptance testing (UAT).
- Coordinate with IT teams to document and execute system testing.
- Author documents like Change Request, User Requirement Specifications, Process Flows, Risk Assessment, GxP assessment, Change Report, Validation Report etc.
New Initiatives (20% of Key Responsibility Area)
The candidate is expected to identify new initiatives to transform how the business operates. This could be through technological and/or process improvements. The candidate is expected to:
- Understand the existing process/setup, identify gaps, and come up with potential fit for purpose solutions.
- Prepare a business case for each of the solutions and present the same to the relevant stakeholders.
- Prepare a roll out plan for the implementation and coordinate with the relevant teams for execution.
- Monitor the critical success factors for the agreed duration and present a closure report to the stakeholders.
WHO YOU ARE:
- 6 to 10 years of experience with bachelor's degree or 6 to 8 years of experience with a master's degree in Computer Science, Information Management or other relevant field.
- Proven working experience as a Business Analyst.
- Effective listener, speaker, reader and writer - able to bridge business and technical domains, promote best practices, and enforce good governance within challenging timelines
- 6+ years of experience in project management and service management, with an understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) methodologies like waterfall, agile etc.
- Exposure to tools like MS Visio, MS Project, JIRA, Confluence, MindManager etc.
- Exposure to relational Database technologies like MS SQL/PL SQL.
- Exposure to life sciences industry.
- Exposure to Computerized system validation (CSV)
- Hands on experience on tools like PowerBI, Spotfire, Tableau.
- Certifications in Project Management or Service Management.
- Should have led 1 or more transformation initiatives.
*Note: Candidates from Bangalore location can also apply as the role would be based out of Bangalore/ Hyderabad.
