Description Job Description Summary

The Lead Engineer demonstrates leadership in communicating business goals, programs, and processes for an area or business segment. In this role you will utilize your experience or expertise to solve problems, develop and execute objectives for self and others, and have the ability to effect short-term and some long- term business goals.
You will be responsible to drive technical excellence and continuous improvement in the design, cost and reliability of the assigned task.
Roles and Responsibilities
The engineer will be responsible for design of Turbine of hydroelectric power station projects:
- Basic design with calculation of hydro Turbine component for hydroelectric power station projects.
- Responsible to verify, approval and control of project specific design drawings, specs, Installation, O&M instructions, and other technical documents required to source, manufacture, test, install or maintain the units by applying industry processes and standards.
- Execute the design, analysis, or evaluation of assigned projects using sound engineering principles and adhering to business standards, practices, procedures, and product / program requirements. This work would include mechanical engineering for all hydro turbine components.
- Developing in-depth knowledge of a technical discipline. Uses prior experience and acquired technical expertise to execute policy/strategy.
- In-depth understanding of key business drivers uses this understanding to accomplish own work. In-depth understanding of how work of own team integrates with other teams and contributes to the area.
- Uses some level of judgment and has ability to propose different solutions outside of set parameters but with guidance. Uses prior experience and on-the-job training to solve straightforward tasks. Has access to technical skills and analytic thinking required to solve problems. May use multiple internal sources outside of own team to arrive at decisions.
- A job at this level is likely to be an individual contributor with proven interpersonal skills or an early people leader who can hire and develop talent. Provides informal guidance to new team members.
- Drive lessons learned, best practices and standardization into drawings, specifications, design practices and processes
Required Qualifications
Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited university or college (IITs,
RECs..)
At least 6 years of relevant experience in an engineering position with experience of basic design with analytical calculation
Fluent in written and spoken English General Knowledge of hydro turbine
Desired Characteristics
Strong technical aptitude, including analytical calculations, applicable engineering tools and systems
Good planning and organizational skills
Effective problem identification and solution skills
Experience working with suppliers, OEMs or customers
Passion to contribute for innovative solutions, cost-out actions and process improvement
Ability to work in a global matrix team environment
