Job Description SummaryThe goal of the GE Hydro Solutions Global Commodity Leader for HV Electrical Equipements is to Manage and lead all sourcing activities relative to a set of goods or services purchased transversally across several regions / Product Lines with operational or strategic stakes with the contribution of their stakeholders.
He / She will lead a network for different segments of this commodity group which includes Transformers (all types : GSUT, distribution and excitation), Generator Circuit Breaker, AIS, GIS, and Protection relays.
By leading a culture of GE beliefs & integrity, he/she is pursuing the objective to leverage GE Renewable spend and to develop a best-in-class supply base that meets their strategic (e.g. localization, product development, vendor list) and operational (e.g. quality, lead-time, cost, EHS) needs.
This role will report to the GE Hydro Solutions Global Commodity team Leader.
Job DescriptionEssential ResponsibilitiesWith the contribution and support of related regions / Product Lines, Projects & and Functions stakeholders within GE Hydro Solutions: Be the key contributor for deflation, product cost-out, lead-time and quality improvement in permanent alignment with their needs.
Strategic Sourcing
Define the Commodity Strategy, supplier target panel and action plan,
Constantly survey the market for intelligence, benchmark and development of new or existing suppliers of local or global usage. Distribute the information to the stakeholders,
Support New Products / Programs Introduction
Panel Management
Lead qualifications of suppliers of the panel to ensure target panel is showing most optimized number of qualified and compliant suppliers at all time,
Manage and develop the validated Target Supplier Panels including the product qualification aspects,
Monitor overall target suppliers performance, ensure their data are up-to-date and 100% accurate in the systems,
Define contractual plan (e.g. General Terms & Conditions, Price Lists) and ensure implementation for target suppliers,
Lead SRM (Supplier Relationship management) program for target suppliers,
TenderingDefine inputs for tendering purposes (e.g. costing, solidity, firming, and target panel),
Project Execution
For Globalized Commodities, perform or lead RFQs and award business to the target supplier, duly supported by GE Hydro Solutions Regional Procurement teams,
For Coordinated Commodities, ensure compliance of Business Award with validated Supplier Panel and tendering budgets,
Leverage bargaining power and drive bundling across Regions & Product Lines,
Support the Projects & Procurement teams to deliver against tender price,
Support the Projects / Regional Procurement teams for critical operational issues (e.g. claims, delays, key negotiations).
Qualifications/Requirements- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university,
- Minimum 5 years professional Sourcing experience incl. operational key commodity sourcing or purchasing,
- Recognized qualification in Sourcing
Desired Characteristics- Experience in Sourcing commodity management with some recognized methodoly
- Experience in LCC sourcing, building and developing a global supply base for assigned commodity,
- Experience in dealing and negotiating with global supplier base,
- Fluent in English, additional languages welcome,
- Experience in procurement or other Sourcing functions such as quality, transportation & logistics, or outside the function: engineering, project management,
- Specialized knowledge and experience on the respective commodity,
- EHS awareness,
